1/ The mega trend of major hospital systems dropping #MedicareAdvantage (MA) continues w/ major eastern NC system dropping @BSBSNC now and @UHC by Dec. ‘26.
Claim adjudication abuse by the MA plans is looming large in the systemic rejections of MA plans by major systems—especially when they easily compare MA claims to traditional Medicare as it is the same patient cohorts.

China added over 543 Gigawatts to their grid last year. 434 GW was renewables because they are faster to build. The U.S. added a paltry 53 GW. We are losing the “AI race” to China because these idiots hate green energy. This is suicide by stupid.

No, it's not communism. It's routine grid conservation advice during heat emergencies to avoid blackouts.
NYC emergency plans and Con Ed have long recommended setting AC no lower than 78°F. Republican Mayor Bloomberg did the same in 2006—he urged conservation, turned off City Hall AC, and shifted city facilities to generators. Giuliani also called for energy conservation on hot days to prevent brownouts.
Practical safety measure, not ideology.

Brandon, you are from Texas, where your Republican governor, @GregAbbott_TX, has quite literally posted the same exact guidance of 78 degrees.

Some very common sense reforms here that anyone should be able to support regardless of ideology.
NEW REPORT: Restoring Fiscal Sustainability to Federal Health Programs
Federal health programs increasingly reward higher spending rather than greater value. The result is rising deficits, greater consolidation, weaker competition, and growing dependence on federal borrowing.
Our new report explains why—and how to fix it.

Trump is personally responsible for 28% of the national deficit of a 250 year old country.
Let that sink in.
We should all be embarrassed.

As Gun Violence Awareness month ends and we begin Jaime's birthday month, we reflect on the past 8 1/2 years. It is so hard to believe that so much time has passed, yet time also feels as if it has stood still. Jaime is forever 14 while her friends have graduated from high school, college, and are now moving on in their adult lives. It remains impossible to explain the impact that gun violence has on everyone in the family affected and how far that impact reaches for all others who knew them or have simply followed along with their stories.
Please think about Jaime a little extra this month. Do something kind in her honor. Be a good person. As we have done the past few years, we will be providing "Blessing Bags" to those who are homeless or simply in need. The bags filled with snacks, drinks, and toiletries will include an inspirational note in hopes to lift someone's spirits, because that is what Jaime would have wanted. She understood that not everyone was as fortunate and she eagerly tried to help. We would love to see your comments and messages of what wonderful things are being done this month to bring hope and joy to others.
Please follow us on social media and check out our website at orangeribbonsforjaime.org to learn more about everything we have done to to keep Jaime's legacy alive, and all we continue to do. See less

Republicans decrying communist involvement in the Democrat party just looked the other way when this administration nationalized ownership of these private companies:
• Intel 10%
• MP Materials 15%
• Lithium Americas 5%
• Trilogy Metals 10%
• U.S. Steel “golden share”

Democracy is not a spectator sport. It requires active engagement.
Today, I was honored to champion @SenBenAllen’s bill, SB 1301, to stop insurance companies from dropping policyholders without notice and sufficient opportunity to cure. SB 1301 passed out of the CA Assembly Insurance Committee 💪! On to the Appropriations Committee and then @CAgovernor’s desk.
Prior to the LA fires, insurers cancelled or nonrenewed policies of numerous residents without advance notice or explanation, and without providing any opportunity to remediate any conditions that might have been the basis for the nonrenewal. As a result, folks were forced onto the CA FAIR Plan (supposedly, the insurer of last resort), with insufficient coverage. Our town experienced it first-hand, but this is an issue of critical importance to every CA resident.
We are one major step closer toward ending unfair nonrewals in California. Thank you, Senator Allen, @ConsumerWD and everyone else who joined in this effort! – at Sacramento, CA

So @mehdirhasan , is your point that the people who took risk to start a company, should be “eaten”, dismissed and castigated ?
And you do realize , if those 150m moved their equity involvement to money markets, the net worth of all of those rich people would fall would fall significantly. ?
And you might see that a lot of loans they took would get called in. That would make you happy. Right ?
They probably have more ability to impact the float of the companies than the zillionaire founders.
Of course the net worths of all those 150m would drop significantly. That wealth effect. The one where people feel good when they get their monthly statements. Gone.
So if enough people believe in you, get them to sell their shares, indexes, etfs. Start with the big healthcare conglomerates, since only @SenWarren has stood up to break them up. And I haven’t heard you demand any senators back her.
Just think. Instead of complaining , you could use your influence to get people to take action and you might get what you want. Whatever that may be
What’s your next move ?

Of the top 10 wealthiest Americans (per recent Forbes/Bloomberg snapshots), most are founders or co-founders of major companies.
For Musk (Tesla/SpaceX), Page & Brin (Alphabet), Bezos (Amazon), Zuckerberg (Meta), Ellison (Oracle), Huang (Nvidia) and Dell — typically 90-100% of net worth is equity in companies they founded or co-founded.
Buffett’s is primarily Berkshire investments (he wasn’t the original founder). Ballmer’s is mostly Microsoft stock as an early executive, not founder.
The concentration largely reflects value created by building scalable businesses.
