Proposal: Should dReps get paid?
@MicahAlexKenda1 argues that compensating DReps (delegated representatives) is dangerous, as it could turn governance into a yield platform, leading to centralization and power shifts from the community to DeFi oligarchs.
He advocates for no compensation for DReps and Catalyst Circle (CC) members.
In response, Daniel @Pyraic3 counters that DReps should be compensated for their time and effort in reviewing numerous treasury withdrawal proposals, comparing it to paying stake pool operators (SPOs) who secure the network.
He argues that underpaying or not compensating DReps could lead to corruption and collusion. Sullivan emphasizes that fair remuneration is essential for effective governance and criticizes Micah for sensationalizing his opinions.
