The Diaspora Is Our Lifeline
"Jamaicans abroad are not just our diaspora. They are our lifeline." ๐ฏ๐ฒ
At the 11th Biennial Diaspora Conference in Montego Bay, I celebrated the bond that connects us, no matter the zip code.
The diaspora sends home Jamaicaโs largest source of foreign exchange. Youโre the social safety net that keeps families afloat. That level of dedication deserves real partnership.
Thatโs why i reiterate my call for seats for Jamaicans abroad on the 100+ public boards that shape our national decisions. Your voice should be at the table, not just sending remittances from it.
I also raised the issue of those still hurting after Hurricane Melissa. Months later, families in Westmoreland, St. Elizabeth & Hanover are still under tarpaulins. Children are missing school. Recovery canโt wait.
The diaspora has always shown up for home. Jamaica must show up for you.
One people. One Jamaica. Wherever we are.

The Director of Public Prosecutions has ruled that police constable Andrew Wilson should be charged with murder in connection with the killing of 45-year-old Latoya 'Buju' Bulgin in Granville, St James last month. The incident sparked public outrage and fiery demonstrations.
This is the woman who was killed by the police. Look at the joy she expressed meeting PM Holness. Tragically, her life was cut short. No citizen should lose their life like this. As a country, we must ensure that incidents like this never happen again.

Elected officials should be leading the public discourse on governance, moving past personalities and focusing on the systems that serve our citizens.
A 'bias' toward meritocracy & accountability is NOT a flaw.
It is the prerequisite for a functioning democracy. Therefore, when an internal audit highlights senior-level HR irregularities, the conversation shouldn't be about targeting โthat ladyโ who is speaking, but what the facts are telling us.
True leadership is demonstrated not by defending institutional gaps, but by closing them.
From a governance perspective, the focus must now be on 3 objective pillars:
๐Verification - How did the vetting process fail to catch these qualification gaps at the senior level?
๐Correction - What is the timeline for ensuring that every taxpayer-funded senior role is occupied by someone meeting the Agencyโs own professional standards?
๐Prevention - What systemic changes are being implemented today to ensure 'irregularities' are no longer 'regular' practice?
I look forward to quality contributions from lawmakers and those who currently have the power - not just duty - to prioritize technical competence in the nations interest.

๐ง๐ท The President of Brazil declares: Iran has also been attacked. I am very angry! Why does everyone with power think they own the world?! We are no longer colonies. We have our independence. Come, let us cry out!
The empire bombed Iran. Sanctioned Venezuela. Blockaded Cuba. Invaded Iraq. Destroyed Libya. Colonized Palestine. And the world is supposed to stay silent.
Brazil speaks. The Global South rises. We are no longer colonies. We are not asking permission. We are declaring independence. Come, let us cry out. Not with tears. With voices. With unity. With resistance.

Moments granny risks her life exposing the deception behind modern maps, which makes white-dominated countries larger and others, especially the global south, smaller.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Mercator projection map was designed for navigation allowing the plotting of straight lines. The distortion is a result.
There is no evidence of a Papal commission for the map. This would be public knowledge, documented and easily researchable if true.
