Averting Nuclear War:
“They are doing effectively what's euphemistically called brinksmanship, where they go up to line and provoke and threaten, in the anticipation that the other side is going to back down, acquiesce to their demands, and they're basically risking all of our lives at their calculation or miscalculation.”

🇵🇸 "Mama, cover me. Mama, I'm scared," 7-year-old Jouri al-Soufi told her mother as gunfire rang out near their tent in Khan Younis before dawn Monday.
Moments later, an Israeli bullet struck her in the heart as she lay under her blanket, her mother told the Palestinian newspaper Felesteen.
Her mother, Islam Abu Muammar, didn't realize Jouri had been hit until she tried to wake her and found blood on her side. Jouri's grandmother and other women in the family, one of them pregnant, were also wounded.
The family said ambulances couldn't reach them for an hour or more because the shooting continued near the "yellow line," the boundary of Israeli-occupied Gaza under the ceasefire.
Jouri was a top student in second grade, her family said. Israeli forces killed her father about a year and a half earlier, and she had lived through hunger and displacement since. "My daughter was the most precious thing in my life," her mother said.

Before the 2008 crash, Wall Street hid massive financial risks using accounting tricks.
Now Big Tech appears to be following the same playbook.
Americans and our entire economy are at risk because Trump’s regulators are choosing to look the other way.
In the increasingly bitter legal standoff between President Donald Trump and media outlets whose reporting he dislikes, a new and crucial third party has emerged: citizens who watch and read the news and need it to do their jobs. to.pbs.org/4ByZzD0
To disarm the big tech bomb, the public needs to be on high alert — as AI firms start to visibly wobble, we need clear demands and firm commitments from our leaders that if it all comes crashing down, the public won’t be the one left holding the bag.truthout.org/articles/as-the…

🇵🇸 Israeli authorities barred a 23-member international delegation — delegates, from Britain, the US, France, Spain, Ireland and other countries, including Labour MP Clive Lewis, Scottish National Party MP Lara Bird, Scottish Greens lawmaker Kate Nevens and former Labour MP Sam Tarry — from entering the occupied West Bank to meet Palestinian children, farmers, and coil society leaders,
They were headed to Progressive International's Second Ramallah Congress at Birzeit University, a gathering on Global South solidarity and resistance to imperialism, and planned to join Palestinian farmers for the olive harvest before they were held for nine hours at the Allenby Bridge crossing from Jordan and later denied entry.
"We were detained, taken aside and then interrogated," Lewis said. "People were shouted at." Bird asked: "If Israel has nothing to hide, why is it so determined to stop us seeing what is happening in the occupied West Bank?"

Today I was denied entry into the West Bank, alongside other parliamentary colleagues from across Europe as part of a @ProgIntl delegation.
We were held for 8 hours, interrogated and ultimately prevented from crossing the border.
I came to stand alongside Palestinians being attacked for harvesting olives on their own land. Instead, we were turned away, with no reason given.
More than ever, Palestinians are being subject to terror and violence by the IDF and illegal settlers. Increased blockades, demolitions and unthinkable violence have become the norm for Palestinians in the West Bank.
It is more important now than ever that we bear witness and show our solidarity.
But we were prevented from doing so.
I will continue to do everything I can to apply pressure on the Netanyahu government, and those responsible for the persecution and genocide of the Palestinian people.

Number of Journalists killed in wars:
Vietnam: 63 journalists in 20 years.
World War II: 67 journalists in 7 years.
Gaza and Lebanon: 300+ journalists in 3 years.
This violates Article 79 of Additional Protocol (I) Geneva Conventions, but international law clearly doesn’t apply to Israel.

Everyday, a prominent Republican - the president, a cabinet official, a primetime Fox host, the Michigan Senate candidate - says something insanely racist about Muslims or Arabs.
Meanwhile, my timeline is full of prominent Democrats and liberals getting mad about a random ad attacking Israel and screaming about antisemitism.
Crickets from them on the out-of-control Islamophobia from the GOP.
