RIP Patrick Stewart.
He was so much more than Captain Picard.
His turn as Horatio in Hamlet is brilliant.
As Sejanus in 'I Claudius'; superb.
As Lenin in 'Fall of Eagles'; masterful.
Godspeed, Sir. Godspeed.

Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence (1990)
Haunting, atmospheric classic. Recorded for their seventh album, Violator, it was extracted as the second single. Written by group member Martin Gore, the song went top 10 in the UK & US + #1 on both US & Italian Alternative Airplay.โค๏ธ

25th October 1415 - The Battle of Agincourt ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ
Outnumbered and exhausted, King Henry V and his English army faced the might of French chivalry on a muddy battlefield in northern France. Against overwhelming odds, the English held firm. Their longbowmen unleashed volleys of arrows as the French advanced through the mud. Faith, discipline, courage and sheer English grit carried the day.
Before battle, Henry and his men prayed to God. After their victory, they gave thanks through the ๐ป๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐. The words of ๐ต๐๐ ๐ต๐๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐ declare: "Not unto us, O Lord, but unto thy name give glory." They fought beneath the Cross of St George, trusting in God and standing shoulder to shoulder.
"Cry God for Harry, England, and Saint George!"
611 years later, we remember the Englishmen who fought and died at Agincourt. This is our history. These are our forefathers. Honour them ๐น ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ
While Blues talking Trafford, letโs not forget we have Pierce Charles doing great at @QPR who have the joint best defensive record in the championship! Heโs also insanely good with his feet! Should be very much considered for @ManCity next season! #Donnarumma

Today in 1415, an English army led by Henry V defeats a much larger French force near Calais at Azincourt (or Agincourt).
A play by Shakespeare will later immortalize the battle:
"Gentlemen in England shall think themselves accursed they were not here."

Benone Strand from Mussenden Temple, Northern Ireland, earlier today. Michael Palin once described the train journey along the coast here as one of the most beautiful in the world.

ALT A landscape photograph, taken from a height. The left foreground of the shot, all the way to the horizon, is a long sandy beach, with waves rolling in towards it from the right. The right of the shot is the ocean. The left of the shot is composed of two rocky headlands, the distant one covered in green grass on the plateau on its top. The horizon is a long, distant shoreline, hilly, and ending in a headland at the extreme right of the shot. The sky is bright blue, but full of puffy white clouds. A train is visible in the left of the shot, from the foreground to the midground.
