Super humid! Top dewpoint of 22.7C today, highest for any December in the Howick weather station records (2009-23) @MetService

Need another 46mm of rain before year's end to beat out 2018 and become the wettest year in my records (2009-23). Can we get there? Forecast suggests it's possible!

Done the first 9 levels of ace in the sleeve so far! Great fun #ChessChamps

Pretty bad drought this year! Last 60 days on my weather station in Howick Auckland has seen just 9mm of rainfall. Some trees are suffering now, some wilting and many dropping dead leaves 😔

Sucks when you're trying to make your web app keyboard accessible and then realise the virtual escape key on the Macbook pro touchbar does not trigger any keyboard events in the browser!

I've begun embarking on a total rewrite of my Howick weather station website... davidbanks.co.nz/post/rebuil…

Take care when animating live charts with D3's transitions. Behind the scenes it uses requestAnimationFrame, which browsers pause and queue up calls to when browser tab is not active. Returning after time away can hang the page while your queue of animations is processed!

Great little refresher course on JS regex on @eggheadio egghead.io/courses/regex-in-…. Good job @joemaddalone !

Here's an online minesweeper game I built using React + Redux. A fun learning experience! goo.gl/wLEbDt

My first time trying to write about my development experiences, in particular the new Angular framework: tinyurl.com/l3uqurm

(2/2) It's pointless - people who have ad blockers generally wouldn't click ads anyway! I very rarely turn it off or make an exception

(1/2) When presented with anti-adblock screen 1. Open devtools, delete overlay & remove overflow:hidden from body, or 2. Go elsewhere.

Trying to get help on ionic forums and get "You're replying too quickly. Please wait 6 minutes before trying again.". Not very helpful!

Spring's in the air!

Every time there's wind & rain in Auckland now, it's a weather bomb according to @nzherald. You guys should look up what it actually means!

Both @nzherald and @NZStuff ... you might want to check the definition of what a weather bomb actually is.
