Republicans were handed Washington on a silver platter in 2024, and spent the next two years betraying the voters who gave it to them. The White House. The Senate. The House. An unmistakable America First mandate.
And these incompetent bastards managed to turn absolute political control into a spectacular midterm humiliation.
Four promises. Four monumental failures.
Secure the border and accelerate deportations? Trump faced relentless judicial obstruction while congressional Republicans stood around scratching their asses, apparently waiting for somebody else to defend the agenda they campaigned on.
Secure our elections? John Thune buried the SAVE America Act beneath a mountain of procedural excuses. First the filibuster. Then insufficient votes. An extraordinary demonstration of leadership from a man who apparently believes his job ends when governing becomes inconvenient.
Cut spending? Mike Johnson and his Republican colleagues watched DOGE identify enormous opportunities to slash waste while Washington continued piling debt onto future generations. The party of fiscal responsibility apparently developed a severe fucking allergy to fiscal responsibility the moment it acquired the power to exercise some.
Protect the economy? Rising gasoline prices, persistent inflation, and weak economic messaging gave voters plenty of reasons to question whether Republican promises meant a damn thing.
And Trump bears responsibility for the whole miserable spectacle. He was elected to confront Washington's entrenched establishment. Instead, he allowed too many Republican leaders to turn his agenda into an endless procession of excuses, delays, and unfinished business.
Each failure weakened the next promise. Each surrender made the mandate increasingly meaningless. And when voters finally delivered their verdict, Republican leadership had nothing substantial to offer except explanations for why holding power hadn't translated into delivering results.
Now Democrats have congressional power and two years to pursue investigations, subpoenas, impeachment, and every confrontation the GOP should have anticipated.
What an absolutely unforgivable clusterfuck.
Thune, Johnson, and Trump inherited an opportunity conservatives spent years fighting to create.
They squandered it.
And in the ultimate act of political betrayal, Republican leaders handed Democrats the power to attack the very priorities their own voters elected them to defend.

A heartfelt thank-you to John Thune and Mike Johnson for transforming a Republican governing majority into the world's most expensive congressional spectator sport. Americans handed these geniuses the White House, Senate, and House, expecting an America First revolution. Two years later, their signature achievement is demonstrating how much taxpayer money you can burn while accomplishing jack shit.
Thune deserves a standing ovation. The SAVE America Act couldn't clear the filibuster. Then, even if it could, he supposedly lacked the votes. Extraordinary leadership! Apparently, the Senate Majority Leader's primary responsibility is explaining why the majority can't lead. Someone get this man a commemorative plaque engraved with āWe Tried Nothing, and We're All Out of Ideas.ā
Johnson brought equally impressive fiscal discipline. DOGE identified enormous opportunities to eliminate waste, yet the spending machine kept humming while Republicans delivered passionate speeches about the national debt. Apparently, fiscal conservatism is a sacred principle that must never be endangered by actually cutting fucking spending.
Meanwhile, federal judges obstructed Trump's immigration agenda while congressional Republicans perfected the ancient legislative art of sitting on their asses and hoping the problem would resolve itself.
And Trump? He hired himself out to the American people as Washington's demolition contractor, then spent far too much time watching his own congressional crew admire the wrecking ball without swinging it. The president owns his share of this magnificent clusterfuck.
Every excuse made the next failure easier. Every abandoned promise made the majority less valuable. Eventually, Republicans managed to convert unified control of Washington into a midterm catastrophe, leaving Democrats positioned to pursue the investigations, subpoenas, and political warfare they've been itching to unleash.
What a breathtaking performance.
Democrats spent years trying to defeat the America First agenda. Thune, Johnson, and Trump's Republican leadership accomplished something even more impressive: they helped squander its governing opportunity from the inside.
The DNC ought to send them fucking thank-you cards. Democrats couldn't have purchased better congressional assistance with a billion-dollar campaign budget.

BREAKING: Sen. Ron Johnson has reportedly secured signatures from five Republican senators demanding a delay in Senate GOP leadership elections.
The signatures are reportedly enough to force a Republican conference meeting to discuss postponing the vote.
These are the 4 that have publicly said they've signed.
Will Senate Republicans agree to a delay?

A house cat brings a mouse in and eats the head. The brain, the eyes, the fat behind them. The body is left on the mat as a gift.
A raven lands on a dead sheep and takes the eyes and the tongue, the two softest, fattiest things on the carcass, and leaves the rest to whatever comes after it.
A golden eagle on a hare goes straight through to the heart and liver and leaves the back legs for the fox.
A tiger starts at the rump and works into the body cavity, and a wolf pack opens the chest for the heart and lungs before anybody touches a ham.
A Greenland shark is pulled up with a stomach full of seal blubber and not a shred of seal muscle.
Across every ocean and continent the first mouthful goes to the fat, the organs and the marrow, and none of them learnt it from anybody.
Then there is you, with a stomach as acid as a vulture's, a gallbladder sitting primed under your liver, and two million years of ancestors who walked miles to a carcass for the parts nothing else could open.
You order the turkey breast.
You pay extra for the mince with the fat taken out.
You lift the skin off the salmon with a fork and push it to the side of the plate like a bone.
You carve the fat off a sirloin with the care of a man defusing a bomb, then leave it on the rim for the waiter.
You drain the dripping off the roast and down the sink, and the Sunday fat goes to the drains instead of the family.
Then you buy collagen powder, fish oil capsules and a vitamin A tablet to put back a fraction of what you just scraped into the bin.
Every creature on that list, shown your plate, would assume a bigger animal had eaten first.

Have a fucking backbone for once in your life!!!
The Senate SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE ASKED to not do something that has never been done before. You are actively involved in a plot to ensure no recess appointments are made...JUST STOP DOING IT!!!
You writing or say something means ZERO. Your actions means everything. If you aren't a fan then have the courage to just say no...you will not participate in something you view as wrong. You won't do that because you are a feckless coward.
You don't get to throw 'leadership' under the bus as a defense. As a senator that represents the ppl of Utah, you don't work for leadership YOU ARE LEADERSHIP; and a piss poor one at that.
Standing up to leadership takes courage; you have none. Standing up to leadership makes you are 'not one of the club' and that's the real reason you participated in the shame. You're standing in the club is more important to you than being the LEADER that refused to go along to get along.
SHAME ON YOU!!!
Iām no fan of pro forma sessions and Iām on record urging our leadership to allow recess appointments.
To my knowledge, President Trump has not demanded that they stopāif and when he does, Iāll back him up every inch of the way.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

A LOT hinges on removing Thune. Kennedy just voted to delay, needs 4 more.
The Susan Wiles revolving door of treachery.
Susan Wiles worked for Ron DeSantis.
Susan Wiles was fired by DeSantis for leaking information
Susan Wiles found her way to the Trump world with the help of very important friends in high places.
Those friends threw a wedge between two good friends turning them against one another that being Trump and DeSantis.
Once that wedge was established this RINO gang went to work on a vulnerable Don Jr selling him on you got it, JD Vance
The Trump-DeSantis ticket was destroyed before it ever got started.
The scheme was to sell Vance to Don Jr who then sold it to Trump.
Vance then took back the years of badmouthing Trump and said it was a mistake
Trump bought it because Wiles sold Vance as an up and coming rock star that will only benefit your presidency
The Trump-Vance ticket was official
Wiles was sold on Trump
Vance was sold on Trump.
As for the elite RINOs?
They got their in woman in Susan Wiles a proven leaker and master manipulator
They got their Pence in Vance
Vance played the game until the midterms where he ended that game and started his separation from Trump by blaming the Iran War on Trump.
Note how he never once spoke negatively about the War and actually held peace talks with the Iranianās
Once Vanceās blame game wasnāt received well in fact it may be his ending, he did a 360 and is looking to save grace for his 2028 run.
This was an orchestrated, well designed game of manipulation to catapult Vance for 28. Vance fucked it all up by opening his phony mouth. Now the best thing that can come out of this is Vance is done.
Wiles got screamed at by Trump before she left. Donāt believe the bullshit about Wiles leaving graciously just to move on from her post and to work for Trump in another capacity. Thatās the game of politics. Never make it look like your administration is in trouble. All for show and tell
They were both caught. Their plan exposed and now we know why we never got any of the accountability this country is starving for.
The manipulative Susan Wiles, the same Wiles who was working on bringing Pete Hegseth down. Trump went scorched earth when he found out
Enter the closer. Trumpās number one confidant. Stephen Miller. Itās Miller Time! All of a sudden the Dems and the media are scared shitless!
Now without someone who was supposed to be your top advisor, manipulating you and giving you false intel, maybe we can get back to the game plan starting with accountability.
Now we all know what Hegseth meant when he said Patriots are now in control.
These are going to be a helluva last two months and a historic next two years. Let the games begin! Itās Miller Time! My two cents

Correct. People have to keep in mind, a 13 point swing feels seismic because most of our districts are purple and that kind of swing can flip a whole bunch over. But in absolute percentages, it only requires a bunch of 1, 2 point swings in various demographic groups all going the same way.
Note the focus on messaging.
The Midterm is Not the Endterm
It is too soon to calibrate the direction of the post midterm Democratic and Republican Parties.
But if the first 72 hours are any indicationāand despite the soon to be Speakerās denialsāthe Left is already bragging about subpoenas, and it is intoxicated by the notion of investigations and impeachments.
Heady Democrats have entirely forgotten the politically suicidal fashion of the 2021-4 five civil and criminal courtroom circuses, the Mar-a-Lago raid, and the blue state deballoting efforts.
All that and more fueled the Trump recovery.
Wild talk of multi-trillion-dollar new agendas grows, like socializing the health care system, a renewed Green New Deal, student loan forgiveness, and illegal alien amnesties, along with new punitive income and estate regulations and taxes.
This socialist dream is reminiscent of the 2021 giddy splurging that gave the country a 9.1% inflation rate by midterm year 2022.
Along with the Afghanistan disaster (the Leftās correction for a Middle East āforever warā) the inflation would ensure Biden a 40% popularity.
The idea that the Left, which cannot do much real lawmaking without a veto-proof Congress, will try to reach deals with the White House, adopt a 1995 Clinton-like realist agenda, simply claim credit for the growing Trump economy, or moderate its rhetoric is highly unlikely.
Instead, we hear crazy talk of confiscations, new billionaire and millionaire punitive taxes, imprisonments, changing the Constitutionāall in full suicidal 1972 McGovern style.
Republicans are blame-gaming each other, which can be constructive if over issues and reforms rather than social media ad hominem. But they need to message far better, about both the administrationās successes and the dangers of a socialist future.
There will be likely be no planned presidential succession, or gentlemanly agreement on a front runner. Thatās likely good news. More likely as of now a triangular race between front-runners De Santis, Rubio, and Vance emergesāall of whom are far preferable to any ticket with a Newsom, Harris, AOC, Mamdani, or el-Sayed.
If the Republicans can stay reasonably united, they can ensure permanent presidential vetoes of crazy leftwing legislation, fight back on the Democratic committee inquisitions, and see the economy in the final two years become an asset in recovering their popularity.
Absent in all conversations is that there is increasing evidence that the economy is actually expanding and has the potential to boom in 2027, or at least the data indicate such potential.
The jobs report came out yesterday with a stunning 165,000 jobs created in October (accompanied by the usual journalistsā adverb āunexpectantlyā), dropping unemployment to 4.1%.
Revised 3rd GDP stats now show a robust 3.4% growthālikely ensuring at least 3%+ growth for the year.
Third Quarter consumer spending soared 3.8%.
Private domestic investment surged with 19.4% growth.
Just reported last week: median family income in 2025 hit a new record ($87,460)āthe highest in 60 years adjusted for inflation. And poverty dipped to its lowest rate (ever 10.2%).
In October manufacturing activity grew faster than at any time in the past five years.
Yes, prices are too high, and final 2026 inflation, given gas hikes, is scheduled to increase by one point (3.7%) from last yearās (2.7%). But it is still lower than the pan-European average (ca. 4+%)āand much lower than the Biden average over four years of 5.1%.
Gas prices are already falling. On November 6 prices fell to a $4.06 averageāas global oil transit is mostly back to prewar levels and refineries scramble to handle the increased deliveries.
U.S. companies are dominating all the top 10 rankings in market capitalization/usage in key area such as software, AI, digital media, space, satellite launches, and bio/genetic engineering.
Note that today gas prices are not that much higher than 4 years ago at the 2022 midterm time ($4.06 vs. ca. $3.80), and havenāt once spiked to $5 a gallon as they did in 2022, just four months before the Biden midterms.
Yet oddly, the red wave sputtered in 2022 when the U.S. was in far worse economic shape than this week when the blue wave became a tsunami.
Messaging, media, and communication count, so note:
Four years ago GDP growth was lower than todayāeven though the pandemic was about over and there was a dramatic return to work and spending.
The inflation rate was almost three times higher in 2022 than now.
Median family income was $14,000 lower than now. The poverty rate was higher in 2022.
The Dow was 20,000 points lower. Foreign investment will likely end the year 30-40% higher than in 2022.
Real wage growth (nominal wages minus inflation) while not great in 2026 is likely to end the year far better than in 2022 (when real wage growth fell 2-3%).
So why would āaffordabilityā have been decisive in the 2026 midterms when it was not in 2022?
The 21% aggregate inflation rate Trump inherited force-multiplied the average 3.15% Trump inflation rate of 2025-6ā yet in a way the aggregate first-term Trump inflation rate (7.7% just a third of the Biden total) did not exaggerate all that much the 9.1% inflation rate in 2022.
Messaging, however, matters. The administration did not explain adequately that a 21% rise in prices cannot be lowered without radical deflation or recession, but only ameliorated by medium family income growth and lowering the inflation rate from the Biden 2021-5 averages, both of which occurred in 2025-6, but were forgotten.
Media coverage of the Biden 2022 weak economy were muted, while Trumpās 2-year inflation rate was exaggerated during 2026.
The Iran war became the culprit as a war of choice that made the inherited Biden 21% high prices and the inability to lower were them solely Trumpās fault. Again, there was inadequate explanation of either the economic reality or why the gamble to denuclearize Iran was defensibleāwith the caveat that stopping the bombing at day 38 and talking with theocrats for seven months was an unfortunate mistake.
The domestic and foreign policy activism of the lame-duck Clinton (1998-2000} and Obama (2014-2016) presidencies increased after their loss of Congress. Indeed, their popularity climbed from a once nadir of below forty to sixty percent approval or above.
There is no reason why the Trump administration cannot have a successful last two years. The economy is growing.
The crime rate is at historic lows.
The border is closed shut. The radical pro-Western political transformation of South and Central America has remade the entire Western Hemisphere.
European NATO is rearming.
Oil and gas production is at highest levels of any nation in history.
The bloated federal work force has been trimmed by over 270,000 jobs.
There is no longer a 40,000-50,000 shortfall in military recruitment. The forced reforms in higher education were long overdue.
The verdict on Iran is still out.
If it is denuclearized, the crippling sanctions continued, the Strait kept open, the provincial opposition armedāand our military gone homeā the regime will face an increasingly restive population
2026 was an unequivocal defeat, but 2028 need not be.
If the administration and Congress stay disciplined and united, and can message better, while the Left goes utterly berserk, drunk on their midterm successes, socialism/Islamism, and Trump Derangement Syndrome 2.0, the tide will soon radically turnā as the economy already has.

In the absence of an agreement between the Senate and White House about recess appointments, regular pro forma sessions are the norm in the modern Senate, with majority-party senators each taking turns presidingāeven if weād rather be doing actual work in session.
Iāve been in close contact with the White House in recent months on the issue, and have made clear that the moment the White House is ready to make a move in that direction, I will support them in supporting recess appointments and opposing pro forma sessions.

Name drops incoming.
Fuck it. Iām about to bleed truth, then jump on my yacht and sail into the deep ocean. Markwayne can send a cutter out to harass me. IDGAF. Let the chips fall where they may.
Why? Because PEOPLE ARE POLICY
I absolutely LOVE that people are finally waking up to the fact that Susie Wiles sidelined hitters like Elon Musk.
Let me state this emphatically:
PEOPLE ARE POLICY.
PEOPLE ARE POLICY.
PEOPLE ARE POLICY.
Susie controlled who had access to the president. And because she hangs every little leak up like a wanted poster, ACCESS MATTERS.
IDK WTF she waved into the Oval Office just before the bombs dropped on Iran.
At my own expense, I spent an entire week, my burthday week, in DC trying to find out.
For an insider like me, this had been the most transparent administration in history.
No door I pushed on was closed.
Until that week.
That week, the only door open to me was Hegseth, who, for obvious reasons, couldnāt tell me why warships were piling up off Iran and the USCG evacuated all assets while leaving US Merchant Marine ships with their sterns flapping in the wind.
He didnāt have to.
The reason was obvious. He was following orders from the White House.
A building in which Susie controls who walks in and who does not.
PEOPLE ARE POLICY
If Susie wants to avoid going down in history as the worst White House chief of staff since H. R. Haldeman, she needs to sit for multiple long-form podcast interviews.
Then kick the MF White House press corps out of the building, bring in actual based people willing to ask the hard questions that MATTER, and stand there and answer them honestly.
What killed Biden and Kamala more than anything?
GASLIGHTING.
And weāve been gaslit on critical questions like who TF pushed out based people like Musk, Isaacman, Waltz, Ortagus, and Ruger.
STOP THE GASLIGHTING.
Now, I FULLY admit Trump has been 100 times more transparent than Biden or Kamala ever was.
But when it comes to personnel decisionsāwhy DOGE rock stars were slow-rolled, who TF advocated for the Iran war, and WTF our Middle East envoy @SteveWitkoff did after firing his based-AF (though admittedly huge Lindsey Graham fanboy) #2āthe administration has been a BLACK HOLE.
And on a few issues, the gaslighting was EXTREME.
Go back and read the administrationās reactions to that Vanity Fair hit piece on Wiles.
EVERYONE wrote long posts pouring out praise so effusive youād think a Hallmark AI bot had written them.
NB: I donāt believe 90% of what Vanity Fair wrote. Theyāre MSM hacks. Calling bullshit on them was fanfuckingtastic.
But you donāt write gushy, ebullient, fulsome praise without a PINCH of criticism and expect us to believe everyone isnāt just falling in line like Democrats after another Pete Buttigieg fuckup.
But blaming everything on Susie, who deserves plenty of blame, doesnāt tell the full story.
And the leading narrative āItās all Pete Hegsethās fault because ā is utter bullshit because he executed a plan given him by the White House. 1/6
