My vision of creating a feature length film about my favorite composer is taking shape piece by piece!
It's so surreal to think that what was a pipe dream a decade ago is now manifesting itself in reality.
God bless AI. For real.

we are switching to 90% agentic editing. we have unlimited data, workflows and proj files to train our model.
the key is, if you can train humans you’ll be very good at training AI
A few thoughts on agentic video editing I’ve had over the last few days:
1. 99% of ads should be edited agentically now. If your editors are still editing in the timeline, they’re falling behind. I got a message from my senior VE saying that he’s putting out 5x edits/day now at the same quality he was before.
2. The conversation with video editors will be uncomfortable because the timeline is all they’ve ever known. Some will be hesitant and some will be fearful for their job. I think the best way to address this is head on. The tech is inevitable, but having taste is still going to be incredibly valuable to train and give feedback to agents. Those who have this will become more valuable, those who don’t will struggle.
3. Opus 5.5 can natively edit all of your ads without needing any MCPs or plugins. I’ve tried the alternatives and couldn’t find anything that was significantly better than doing everything inside of Claude.
4. Have your senior editor(s) build skills for each style of edit (e.g. mashups, UGC, AI animations…). You can build these by feeding 4-5 inspo edits to Claude and tell it to make a skill out of it. I prefer building lots of mini-skills to one big video editing skill, so that the context stays as relevant as possible.
5. Once you have a base skill (e.g. ugly ads edits), the best way to train it is through feedback loops. Have the skill re-edit the last 25 ads each senior edited then put them in an artifact, and have the senior VE give feedback on each. Keep doing this until the skill is refined and it understands what a good edit is.
6. If you do this, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to make edits that need little/no feedback. Most of ours are approved after v1 or v2, sometimes v3.
7. Only A-player editors should be training the skills.
8. Re adoption in the team, the AI champion builds the v1. Then get out of the way. I’m not the best editor on my team, so my job is to build the harness that lets the best editors train the skills, not build the skills myself.
9. If you want to supercharge this process, have your top editors record their screen as they edit. Turn on Gmeet or loom and get them to narrate the reasoning behind their process. E.g. why they chose this cut, pacing or b-roll clip…this is all context that gets fed into your skills.
10. It takes time to build, train and refine these skills. You have to go through the dip to get out the other side. Budget time in for senior VEs to work on this - otherwise you’ll end up with skills that put out subpar edits and don’t save you much/any time.
11. Operate under the assumption that this is the worst video editing is ever going to be. Opus 5.5 can do most of our editing today…what will Opus 6/Fable 6 be able to do? The editing skills you build are only going to become more valuable as the tech evolves.
I still don’t think people realise how big video editing being unblocked is. Things that I thought were 3-6 months away are now on the table.
Will continue to share more as I learn. CRAZY, crazy times.

Before you blame the algorithm, check these 4 things first:
1. Strategy
Decide exactly what your channel should be known for.
Your videos should repeatedly serve the same type of viewer around the same core problem.
That gives YouTube clearer audience signals and gives viewers a reason to watch more than one video.
2. Packaging
Your title and thumbnail decide whether the video gets a chance.
The job of packaging is to make three things obvious:
→ What the video is about
→ Why it matters
→ Why someone should click now
A strong video with weak packaging usually stays invisible.
3. Production
Production should make your expertise easier to consume.
Prioritize:
→ Clear audio
→ Tight pacing
→ Real examples
→ Useful screen shares
→ Visuals that clarify what you’re saying
The goal is comprehension and retention
4. Distribution
Once the first 3 are solid, focus on publishing consistently.
For most B2B channels, one strong long-form video per week is a good baseline.
Consistency gives YouTube more data, gives you more chances to find winning topics, and builds a library prospects can discover over time.

L take. if you see demand outweighing the supply, you should absolutely double down. it doesn’t matter who made a video about it previously.
media markets are much much bigger than 3-5 videos/channels you see at the top of the search results.
almost all of these videos are 1 of 10s in their respective rankings
do not leave views on the table. if you don’t make that video, others definitely will

8 years ago this confused, lost, uncertain, and broke 20 something made a decision…
a decision to own a business someday.
that day has come in 2023.
i was laid off and heartbroken, decided to give myself a shot at this online business thing on christmas 2022. (when i was writing on my notebook as my new year resolution)
if i could sign 3 freelancing clients by march, i would continue to pursue it. if i couldn’t, i was gonna apply to video editor jobs.
january: crickets
february: 1 client
march: 3rd client signed (still working together to this date)
my daily routine:
- 4 hours of practice
- 1 hour of outreach
- 1 hour of content
- the rest of my time would go to client deliverables (which is editing videos until i lose my mind)
months later i hit $10k/m
1 year later i hit $20k/m
1 year later i hit $50k/m
and the revenue passed a certain point where i no longer share online because i feel so insecure
because the people around me are making so much more and seeing so much success that makes me feel so small…
anyway…
i saw this photo of me while scrolling through my photos app, i paused my tv show that was running in the background, stopped and thought about it for a second.
that version of me would be so proud to have created a business this size. so a word from your future self:
“it all worked out, i’m glad you didn’t give up on yourself.”
if you are on the come up and seeing this, i am rooting for you. i am proof that you can achieve what you put your mind to.
do not get confused by the hard season of life you are going through. keep learning, keep building, keep making connections, keep sharing your work.
i promise you it will work out
