A societal stance my autistic brain can't comprehend is how acknowledging that someone has treated you badly and calling them out on it is considered more disrespectful than actually treating someone badly. It's as if drawing attention to a misdeed is worse than committing one.

complex ptsd: something terrible WAS your entire environment and you had to just live in it. there was no escape.

I used to be a people pleaser and then I realized I never got anything I actually wanted and that my relationships were based on mutual unspoken resentment. So I pivoted to a life of asking for what I want and being seen as an often disagreeable and difficult woman. Much better

The dirtiest manipulation during a breakup is when a person has already decided to leave u, but they are too much of a coward to take the first step. They are afraid to make that decision and take responsibility, so they intentionally create unbearable conditions for u. They provoke u into arguments, emotional instability, and push you to the point where the idea of ending the relationship comes from u. So that you are the one who does it, and the blame for destroying the relationship falls on u.

as an autistic person i feel like sometimes i have this sort of “whimsical innocence” that makes it feel like i can’t comprehend somebody being mean. like people doing hateful stuff just doesn't make sense, there's no logical reason for why somebody should be cruel. it puts me in logic loops that end up turning into full blown spiraling when someone actively chooses to be incredibly unkind
