A classic impressionistic erotic beach scene oil paintings created in the early 20th century by the listed French female painter Paulette Bardy... The artworks depict playful, intimate beach encounters in a loose, vibrant impressionist style, often featuring figures in period attire against coastal backdrops with distant sailing ships or cliffs. . . . Paulette Bardy, listed French Impressionist of the early part of the 20th Century. Bardy was born in Fez, Morocco and her works were accepted and exhibited at the prestigious Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris. Awarded in 1939 with a medal for her painting "Vendandes". She was a pupil of French artist Charles Fouqueray. Bardy also painted a series of controversial risque beach scenes, erotic in nature, titled "La Plage" and "Bord de Mer" in the manner of Eugene Boudin. Bardy with these scenes probably wanted to depict the fleeting romances (symbolised by the sailing ships disappearing in the fog background and the granite cliffs as a constant reminder of the hardships of a woman's life). #archaeohistories
