A company scheduled 5 rounds for a junior developer role. Round 1: HR screening. Round 2: DSA. Round 3: React and JavaScript. Round 4: System design. Round 5: Final managerial discussion. The candidate cleared every round. Then HR said, "We're looking for someone with 5+ years of experience." The role was advertised for freshers. At this point, is hiring even serious anymore?

I get jealous of the folks who jumped into IT in the early 2000s. Joined when competition was basically nonexistent. Now sitting in senior, director, or management roles Likely pulling in crores. Built everything before AI turned into a real threat Barely stressed about layoffs during their prime years They’re the reason so many parents pushed their kids into software Stacked enough money that job security barely matters anymore

He applied to 36 roles in the Netherlands, a market supposedly short on developers. Zero companies reached out for an interview. The junior market is way tougher than most realize.
