Ayesha Jalal’s The Sole Spokesman offers the influential revisionist view: Jinnah negotiates rather than crusades. The Lahore Resolution of 1940, on her reading, was a maximalist bargaining counter for Muslim safeguards within a federated India, while Partition emerged from failed negotiations between the Crown, Congress, and League. Pakistan was thus “insufficiently imagined”, born more of political manoeuvring than sustained ideological intent.
The historical record suggests a deeper trajectory: two centuries of intellectual development, three decades of organised mobilisation, and a vast vernacular debate carried Muslim political thought from articulation to popular demand and, ultimately, deliberate pursuit. Pakistan’s creation was therefore not simply an accident of negotiation, but the political culmination of an evolving idea consciously developed and pursued.

Is India's biggest economic success story facing its biggest technological test?
For three decades, India's IT industry powered global outsourcing, building a $315 billion technology sector, employing nearly 6 million people, and generating over $200 billion in exports.
But the AI era is changing the rules.
Tasks that once fueled India's outsourcing boom, routine coding, software testing, documentation, customer support, and junior analyst work, are increasingly being automated. As companies invest in AI, questions are emerging about the future of employment, competitiveness, and the country's long-standing IT-driven growth model.
What does this mean for India's economy? Can its technology sector adapt to the AI revolution? And what will determine success in the next phase of global technological competition?

India's Water Minister CR Patil confirmed on June 10, under direct PM Modi directives, that India is "actively working" to ensure not a single drop of water flows into Pakistan. This is a stated government policy, not a political talking point.
It follows India's suspension of the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty after the Pahalgam attack, removing 65 years of legal constraints governing upstream water infrastructure on rivers allocated primarily to Pakistan.

Concerns have been raised about the growing influence of Hindutva ideology and the BJP's political trajectory, with critics arguing that rising majoritarian nationalism, political polarization, and the concentration of power may have implications beyond India’s borders.
The debate extends to diaspora communities, where questions are increasingly being asked about political mobilization, ideological influence, democratic values, and the relationship between state power, economic elites, and social cohesion.
