Ark Encounter often cites around 7000 individual animals on board. Even if you calculate an ultra conservative daily average of just one gallon of fresh water and two pounds of dry food per animal across the 370 day biblical timeline, the numbers collapse the entire premise. 7000 animals require over 2.5 million gallons of fresh water and more than 5 million pounds of dry feed. That is roughly 13000 tons of supplies taking up over 550000 cubic feet of space. The Ark had a total gross interior volume of around 1.5 million cubic feet before subtracting structural timbers, decking, ventilation corridors, walkways, waste drainage, and animal pens. Food and water alone would consume over a third of the hull. Eight people would also have to distribute over 7000 gallons of water and 14000 pounds of food every single day while manually shoveling tons of excrement out of closed wooden decks. No matter how you slice the math, eight people and a wooden barge cannot sustain that biomass for over a year.
