Turkish pupils dress as ‘demons’ in Greek and British flags for Republic Day play
Intense online backlash has followed photos from a Turkish primary school’s Republic Day performance on 29 October. The event re-enacted the founding of the Republic and the War of Independence
The fact that you idiots thing there’s any legal basis to bring an action like this is… idk I don’t even have the words for it.
I see a lot of people asking what grounds etc would we be doing this on. In my opinion it’ll be some sort of defamation - considering the fact that ‘The Overlap’ etc have however many million views etc and Carra’s basically said we’d never win the CL and PL etc. It might be true, but anyone maybe looking to support a team or newly getting into football and then seeing that clip and seeing him basically laugh at Villa challenging - that’ll put em off. Fair play Sawiris - Don’t try to take us for mugs now. We’re a serious club. #AVFC
So embarrassing
Lionel Messi will be available for Inter Miami’s game against New England Revolution on Sunday night despite receiving his fifth yellow card of the MLS season, which would typically trigger a one-game suspension.
Ordinarily, five cautions would keep him out of his next game.
But for years, MLS has had a disciplinary provision that can reduce a player’s yellow-card tally if he has gone a sustained period without one.
It is a rule that usually goes unnoticed, but given Messi’s stature, it has come to light again, and it has proven particularly useful for the player and Inter Miami as the MLS regular season comes to a close.

.@YahooFantasyCC you guys really need to address the IL changes you made, especially switching players from O to Q as games end, so people can't hold obviously injured players in IL, thus hamstringing them from making moves. It alienates players when an injury can't even be covered for because of asinine like this.
I’m done with Fofana. Biggest waste of money. But the referee fucking with him because of the ball placement fucked with his head. What a joke.

The irony is that Turkey hasn’t even signed or ratified the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), yet it selectively invokes principles of maritime law whenever they serve its expansionist ambitions. 😀
You can’t reject the legal framework when it doesn’t suit you, then expect everyone else to accept your interpretation of maritime boundaries.
Maritime rights are established through international law and negotiations between the countries concerned, not through unilateral deals that disregard the rights of third states or attempts to impose a fait accompli.
Crushing blow to Turkey at the UN!
Greece, the EU, Cyprus, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE have declared the so-called Turkish-Libyan memorandum null and void.
Voiced by Hellenic Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, the six stress it remains wholly invalid and contrary to international law, despite its recent ratification by the Libyan parliament.
Such practices, they warn, pose an extremely grave danger to the international legal order. Six voices, one united verdict.

Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe campaigned all month only for Harry Kane to quietly win the Ballon d’Or award. 😂😂😂😂😂
Congratulations, Harry Kane.
Very well deserved!
I meant “rarely ratifies”

The US are rarely signatories of international treaties for historic reasons. Not because they don’t agree with it. A little research will tell you that.

The area "offered" to Egypt is entirely on the Greek side of the median line (true irrespective of whether Kastellorizo is an enclave or not).
Greece's agreement with Egypt benefits Egypt ~6,500 km^2.

Humorously, the 15,000 km² that Turkey so graciously offers to Egypt isn’t Turkey’s to offer in the first place: it’s Greek on the median line, and even under Turkey’s own doctrine, 28% of it is Egypt’s to begin with.🫢

💥 Turkey’s latest play: Defense Minister Yaşar Güler publicly offers Egypt a maritime deal, claiming Cairo would gain ~15,000 km² more sea than under any pact with Greece.
🎇 Turkey is openly trying to “bribe” Egypt with maritime territory that does NOT belong to it.
🔥A modern pirate state showing its mindset in full color.
This is textbook gunboat diplomacy from a state that refuses to sign UNCLOS, denies full maritime rights to Greek islands (Crete, Kastellorizo and others) and the Republic of Cyprus under its Blue Homeland doctrine, and treats the Eastern Mediterranean as its private domain while threatening those who disagree.
The timing is no accident. It comes right after Greece and Egypt agreed to continue consultations on extending their 2020 EEZ agreement — strictly on the basis of international law and UNCLOS — and after eastern Libya’s ratification of the illegal 2019 Turkey-Libya memorandum (which both Cairo and Athens correctly call null and void).
Ankara is trying to buy off Egypt with maps drawn from someone else’s continental shelf in order to isolate Greece and weaken Cyprus’s rights. Egypt has repeatedly shown it knows the difference: it respects its existing agreements, UNCLOS, and the reality that playing Ankara’s games damages its interests with Europe.
International law and island sovereign rights are not optional. Pirate charts are. 🇬🇷🇨🇾
