May 1, 2020 will be remembered as the day that the government of Canada under Justin Trudeau killed one of the basic tenets of our justice system: the presumption of innocence. This must be fought by every legal means. #cdnpoli
Assault-style firearms designed for military use have no place in our communities. Thatโ€™s why we banned 1,500 of them today. Get the details here: pm.gc.ca/en/news/news-releasโ€ฆ

On October 17, 2026, a devastating training fire at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright claimed the lives of four Canadian soldiers and left dozens more injured. The impact of this tragedy extends far beyond the individuals involved, touching families, fellow soldiers, and an entire military community. For the National Firearms Association, this tragedy hits particularly close to home. Many within our own membership are veterans, and only weeks before this incident, the NFA was at CFB Wainwright for the historical machine gun charity shoot. Our headquarters are in Edmonton; we know the base, the people who serve, and have served there, and our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this terrible loss. We are encouraging our members, supporters, and the broader firearms community across Canada to stand alongside these soldiers and their families. Through the Legacy Place Society ( @legacyplacesos ), a dedicated CFB Wainwright Benevolence Fund has been established to provide direct assistance to the affected families, helping with critical care, practical support, and the many challenges that lie ahead. Every contribution makes a difference. Whether large or small, your generosity can help ensure that these families are not left to navigate the difficult road ahead alone. ๐—š๐—ผ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ธ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐˜„ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ - ๐—–๐—™๐—• ๐—ช๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜„๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜ ๐—ณ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ legacyplacesociety.com/donatโ€ฆ (๐˜™๐˜ฆ๐˜จ๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜Š๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜บ #891549420๐˜™๐˜™0001) Our thoughts are with the families of the fallen, those recovering from their injuries, and all members of the Canadian Armed Forces affected by this tragedy. -- Special thanks to the Canadian Sniper Association for helping put this all together.

Registration = confiscation. We have learned that the hard way up here in Canada. Thank god for @stephenharper scrapping the non-restricted firearms registry up here years ago.

One moment he was supporting two young cadets selling poppies, the next he was transported to hospital with life-altering injuries. In a matter of moments, this family's entire world changed. He is now facing a long and uncertain road ahead, including spinal surgery, an extended hospital stay and what will undoubtedly be an incredibly challenging recovery. I donโ€™t generally share these, but for this one I am morally compelled to โ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ˜ž gofund.me/6822ad2cc

Emotional blackmail is a form of psychological manipulation and emotional abuse where someone uses fear, obligation, and guilt (FOG) to control your behavior and get what they want.

โ€ผ๏ธMAJOR BREAKING: The Academy of Learning, a Brampton Private College, which is on the 3rd floor of a commercial building got 57% of ALL OSAP grant money ($219 million) and 50% of the OSAP applications came from a SINGLE IP address! Reports of: -Ghost Students: Registered applicants could not name their school or program. -Faked Coursework: Third parties logged into online portals to finish entire courses in one day. -Misled Inspectors: Students in online courses falsely claimed they were attending in person. -Multi-week courses were completed in a single day with "bot clicks" Here is a video I dug up, it has ZERO likes. ๐Ÿ›‘ Canada doesn't need AI corporate welfare! ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ I like @cohere and want them to succeed, however, state ownership of companies and coercing (basically) the Maple 8 of pension funds to get on board, hardly ever works and usually results in selling down the road at a loss ... history bares this out. I also support Canada's AI ambitions and the importance of sovereignty through the five layers of the tech stack (1-grid/compute, 2-data/retrieval, 3-models/intelligence ... this is Cohere's sweet spot, 4-orchestration/application, and 5-the application layer for end users, both business and consumer). However, PM @MarkJCarney and AI Minister @EvanLSolomon have reverted to the vehicles of traditional funding tranches of @ISED_CA (and its predecessor departmental incarnations of Industry, ITC, DRIE, IST and IC) and regional development agencies, which has -- at a minimum to be conservative -- amounted to over $150 billion in non-inflation-adjusted spending. And the record for the past 50 years is ABYSMAL. Too many unpaid loans to count with companies still leaving Canada or going bankrupt, and job creation promises or even simple maintenance of existing jobs never achieved ... and our federal officials hardly ever folllow up on these and no federal Ministers held to account for undeniable policy and program failures. Dozens of ATIPS by me and others over the last 30 years are irrefutable in this respect. I wrote about this risk back in February for an IQVIA publication and also cautioned about this in the immediate aftermath of the AI for ALL policy release on June 4th. Sadly, my worst fears are coming true. ๐Ÿ˜ข And here's the bigger problem going forward; Cohere is starting to look more and more like Bombardier -- the long-favourite federal child for taxpayers largesse -- which WILL quickly erode and diminish their brand at home and will not embolden needed national buy-in and wider public support for Canada's noble and necessary AI ambitions. In fact, it will do the exact opposite. This is not public-private partnership, this is political patronage via corporate welfare ... and it is so ๐Ÿคฌing wrong! Please read this piece by @CharlesLammam to better understand what is happening. โคต๏ธ Where are you ... @taxpayerDOTcom, @iedm_montreal, @AristotleFdn, and @avilewis as your grandfather railed against this misallocation of funds.

Tyranny is not rare when populations aren't armed. 100s of millions of people outside of war have been killed by tyrannical governments - far more than all the gun violence you're elevating here.

Major American television networks barely gave this story thirty seconds of airtime, because what happened at a graduation party in Charleston, West Virginia, did not fit their script. On the evening of May 25, 2022, around forty neighbors, parents, and young children gathered outside an apartment complex in Charleston to celebrate a high school graduation and birthday party. When thirty-seven-year-old Dennis Butler, a violent criminal with four prior felony convictions, sped his car down the street right past the playing children, parents politely asked him to slow down. Thirty minutes later, Butler came back for revenge. He parked his car, pulled out a stolen AR-15-style rifle, and opened fire directly into the crowd of forty mothers and kids. He never got to reload. Standing among the families was a law-abiding American woman with zero police or military background, carrying a legally concealed nine-millimeter pistol in her waistband. While everyone else dove for the grass, she stood her ground, drew her handgun, and fired across the yard, fatally striking the gunman in seconds. Not a single child or guest at that party was scratched. The next morning, Charleston Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett told reporters that instead of a mass casualty tragedy, one brave woman saved dozens of American lives.
