Thank you Governor. 💜✝️🙏🙏🙏
Today, the flags of the United States and the State of Louisiana fly at half-staff in honor of legendary LSU Basketball coach, Dale Brown.
A devoted husband for 67 years to Vonnie, a beloved father to Robyn, and a tremendous leader both on and off the court.
Thank you Coach for the memories, lessons, and victories. You will be missed by Tiger Nation and the State of Louisiana!

Was in a meeting, but this is particularly notable given that Edwards was in the stayed Tennessee case.
BREAKING: BJ Edwards has received a temporary restraining order, allowing him to be eligible for OU, sources tell @247Sports.
The two-time ACC All-Defensive Team guard gives Porter Moser and the #Sooners a major backcourt boost.

Another TRO granted in a 5 in 5 case, this one by an Oklahoma state court.
NCAA knows it’s fighting a losing battle, but continues to waste colossal amounts of $ on trying to not allow a small group of athletes do what their teammates are allowed to do (play 5 seasons).
#Sooners guard BJ Edwards is eligible to play after receiving a temporary restraining order Friday in Cleveland County District Court.
“He’s one of the best defensive players I’ve ever played with,” teammate Duke Brennan said of Edwards.

Our team @SandbergPhoenix (and awesome local Arizona counsel Beus O’Connor McGroder!) are proud to represent Jonathan Griman, a Venezuelan immigrant and Arizona State student who the NCAA denied a year of eligibility under a national team exemption waiver.
Rather than applying the plain text of the bylaw as written, which clearly qualified Jonathan for the relief, the NCAA denied his waiver by retroactively applying extratextual staff guidance issued in May 2026 to a 2023 enrollment.
The NCAA denied Jonathan a waiver (1) because he spent a year at the NBA Academy at 17 years old at the urging of his national team Federation and (2) unable to afford a student visa. Jonathan only went to the NBA Academy because he had nowhere else to go due to a unprecedented economic and humanitarian crisis in Venezuela at the time, leaving his family suffering intense poverty, food insecurity, and political persecution. The NCAA also ruled that despite his being a 16- and 17-year-old minor unable to leave his country, they did not feel Jonathan's delayed enrollment was due to "circumstances outside his control."
This case is a textbook example of how the NCAA arbitrarily exercises its waiver authority, and we are pleased with the ruling of the Court in granting Jonathan a preliminary injunction so that he can play for Arizona State and future Hall of Fame coach Randy Bennett this season.

It's embarrassing that the NCAA continues to fight these cases. The NCAA needs to accept reality, let the Class of 2022 play, and #EndTheChaos.
Good news for all the atheltes in the Indiana eligibility case, which includes IU defensive linemen Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt and Miami basketball’s Malik Reneau. Indiana Court of Appeals has denied the NCAA’s request to expedite, which means they are expected to be eligible for the rest of the year.

The athletes that are part of the Indiana 5 in 5 case will now likely be eligible for the entire 2026-27 season.
The Indiana Court of Appeals denied the NCAA’s request for an expedited schedule.

Huge. This will now take a while. For context, there were several NCAA appeals last year that actually got dismissed for mootness because the players played a full season before the courts of appeal could actually decide or even hear the case.

This by itself, without the percentage at the end, would actually be a really good sign. The young guys are coming into their own, so now we just need the rest of the team to wakey-wakey and have a little bakey…
It's really ironic that now that the young guys are doing it, the rest of the team is not.
#CBJ young guns of Johnson (7), Mateychuk (4), Fantilli (4) and Sillinger (3) have scored 67% of the goals this season (18/27).

High school athletics would improve dramatically if we required every adult who screams at an official to officiate one middle school basketball game.
No security.
No protective glass.
Just them, a whistle, and 57 emotionally unstable parents.

What’s worse? Going to law school to defend insurance companies or going to law school to be a lawyer for the NCAA? I did insurance defense work my first year out of law school. It was miserable. Still probably more rewarding than being on the NCAA’s payroll.

Dealing with an increasing number of school demands that athletes pay liquidated damages if they transfer, even after the seasons for which they were paid have concluded.
What’s the school’s protectable interest if the athletes are not employees? Their NIL value under the fake licensing agreement? Ludicrous. Still no decision in Sorsby. Arbitrations happening elsewhere.

Two quick takes.
1. Good response by #CBJ as game wore on. They still must clean up some puck decisions that put them behind. Chance to go 2-1 on road trip Saturday.
2. The early emergence of the young core was something the Blue Jackets had to have. Much-needed good news.

College football has never put a more compelling and competitive product on the field.👇
And this is because the athletes are now allowed to freely participate in the labor market for their playing services.
Disruption and change do not equal broken.
