On human relationships we can still be tolerant, but surely we can be less tolerant of social evils - public smoking is as good as banned, but gambling is actively encouraged.

🇵🇸 Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israeli forces have driven about 2,000 Palestinians from their homes in Hebron. The expulsions ethnically cleanse the neighborhood of two Palestinian gunmen who killed two Israeli soldiers at an illegal military checkpoint near the occupied city on Friday. Both gunmen were killed on Friday before the demolitions began.
Katz told the public broadcaster Kan that residents will not be allowed back until the army resolves "all the Hamas issues in Hebron." He offered no evidence of any Hamas presence there. The Hebron municipality says about 86 acres of the city have been destroyed or marked for demolition.
Israel carried out similar ethnic cleansing in the northern West Bank in early 2025, when its "Iron Wall" offensive emptied the Jenin, Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps. More than 33,000 Palestinians from those camps are still displaced, according to the UN human rights office.
Troops have turned seized homes in southern Hebron into barracks and observation posts, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. At least 47 Palestinians have been detained since Friday, according to the Palestinian Prisoner's Society. Israel is set to close all West Bank crossings on Tuesday, election day.

🧵1/20 During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we remember some of the Palestinian cancer patients denied essential healthcare even before October 7.
At the time, Israel prevented around half of Gaza’s patients from traveling for treatment, while healthcare was already collapsing. 👇

2/20 Israel’s inhumanity knew no bounds: In 2019, five-year-old Aisha Al-Lulu traveled from Gaza to Jerusalem for brain surgery—without a family member allowed to accompany her. Witnesses recalled her heartbreaking words before surgery: “I want my mama.”

And then there's Yemen. MBS entered the regional stage as defense minister in 2015, and waging war on Yemen was his personal project to establish his reputation as "the prince of decisiveness".
And now the Houthis are stronger than ever are in control of Bab Al Mandab.

What does Saudi Arabia get to show for it? It's still dependent on oil, and its oil routes are being squeezed.

Take Vision 2030. Strip away all the PR and pomp and spectacle, and its core was an economic promise: Saudi Arabia can, within a few years, become no longer reliant on oil. It can become a post-oil regional power.
It's 8 years later. Look where we are now.

Celebrating the courage and defiance shown yesterday by imprisoned leader Hassan Salameh must not distract us from our duty—one of the most pressing responsibilities of the Palestinian national movement.
For more than two decades, Gaza has carried this burden, and its people have paid an unimaginable price.
Yesterday’s image of Hassan, the images of Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya and leader Marwan Barghouti in recent weeks, and the daily accounts of abuse from Israeli prisons should be a slap in the face to every Palestinian leader, politician, activist and journalist.
Our duty cannot end with reminding the world of our prisoners’ suffering. What will change if we keep updating the world on their numbers day after day? The world may sympathize with us—but what will that achieve?
We must explore every possible avenue to secure their release and ease their suffering: conventional and unconventional, expected and unexpected, tried and untried.
Human rights advocacy, legal action, media campaigns and diplomacy may expose the real face of Israel, which was already exposed, and that will do little to change what our prisoners endure everyday…!
