This looks useful (a free 'Psychology for Ecommerce' thing). (Also nice to see @anton_shulke continuing to run these from Ukraine. He's still continuing to distribute donations to cat/dog shelters there - buymeacoffee.com/antonshulke) nitter.gq/ecommerce/status/15116…
Today: free 'Psychology for Ecommerce' webinar from @anton_shulke and team. 10am PT, 6pm UK time. Free registration here: buff.ly/3NyDcEI nitter.gq/anton_shulke/status/15…

With Paid Ads many retailers don't know the structural opportunities nor are fully proficient on the levers they have to control investment. Withdrawing poor sellers, cross channel analysis and Feed Optimisation are all tactics which can boost profit.

I see the opposite. DTC brands that avoided Amazon in the past are now flocking to the platform. They are five years late to the party.
Completely agree. Amazon is not the wonderland that many make it out to be. The 15% commission is a significant amount, with the impact straight to your bottom line, not revenue. Would you lower your prices by 15%? Because it's the same thing.

IMO still some supply difficulties ahead for those sourcing from China as they transition away from "zero covid" + container prices still don't seem to have settled down yet #ecomchat

A1 It depends, but for some niches increase offline competition. And for higher end products more ropo behaviour ( ropo = research online, purchase offline ). #ecomchat

I expect many to have overbought on stock for this year based on 20/21 sales (and the presumption of continuation, not decline), the cost of living issues are going to make that excess stock even worse. Expect lots of deep discounting later in the year.

Personally I think it is coming - with the rise in tiktok I think it will become inevitable for certain core sectors - probably never as popular as in China but it wouldn't surprise me if 25% fashion retailers were doing it inside 24 months. #ecomchat

Optimised, Themes, Images, Cloudflare, stripped out all the things we didn't need, apps, code etc. Measured everything will all the useal tools plus @tryblackbird took load times from 3secs+ to around 1.1 to 1.5secs. Not real ROI seen if I'm honest #EcomChat

Spent ages on this, we have the fastest pageload now vs our competitors by some way. Did it make any difference in terms of 📈💵.....not really #ecomchat

A question of scale IMO. If you have super high traffic levels the costs can really hit your bottom line fastcompany.com/1825005/how-… (and this is 10 years old!) #ecomchat

There is simply no excuse anymore, your site needs to be blazing fast. A slow site can wreck your conversion rate. It is paramount that you focus on this to ensure they don’t get frustrated and leave!

A creasingly slow one may reduce confidence and will drive away the impatent, esp on slower devices. Beyond that I'm not sure it matters. #EcomChat

#EcomChat A2. I think the biggest ones are: 1) Not having tracking in place 2) Not looking at the right metrics 3) Not tracking the right metrics 4) Not combining data for a fuller picture 5) Focusing on one area/aspect (often the online, ignoring the business etc.)

Let’s go big and probably not thoroughly of up front is tracking their brand and what customers think / say of them. Without this econ brands are blinded

I offer the fastest possible then a realistic and economy option. The fastest could be by 9am next day for £55 Next day by midnight for £6.50 Economy 1-3 days for £4.50 But this gives the power to the consumer to choose and makes the 6.50 option seem not too expensive haha.

Be clear if there are any areas that might accrue an extra shipping charge - e.g. Isle of Man, Jersey, Gurnsey etc. #ecomchat

I really like the option to select courier like on master of malt. I’ll always pick DPD next day on gifts over Hermes. Keeps me going back 🤷‍♀️
