Driving 10x annual ROI on our fees in just one test. Huge, and our win rate on tests overall has never been higher @JuliansDigital
Quick win in Shopify
If your fixed rate shipping is $5.
Add a $10 fixed rate shipping with a slower estimated delivery time.
This anchors the $5 to seem 1) cheap and 2) arriving faster relative
Reduces checkout abandonment and increases revenue at not cost (no one is abandoning because they saw a worse shipping option)
My daughter turns 10 this month.
We're doing a murder mystery for her party, and I just showed her the invitations I made which she gets to send out next week...
She was BLOWN AWAY.
Her dad, her family, the house, even her - all characters in the invite playing dramatic roles.
Now she's never been more excited for a bday party.
Time to make it: under 1 hour.
How:
- Quick character sheet for each family member
- The 3x3 photo grid of the house from the architect's website
- Wrote the script by hand
- Had GPT turn it into timestamps + shot notes
- A few regens on scenes that missed (used dreaminia)
That's it. The best birthday invite I'll ever make and another holy sh*t moment with AI
Framing value in outcomes (very specific) with %, metrics, case studies + glowing reviews from the owner who you acheived those results is great.
Presenting the same outcome acheived multipe times - now you have a scalable agency
YOUTUBE ADS - SAUCE
We just got way more aggressive on one account
Try this
Look at a period 3+ months prior in your MTA
Play with first touch attribution window from 1 day to 90 and in between.
Screenshot attached, check this out on some top spending campaigns
YouTube NC-ROAS: 0.29 → 0.66
Meta NC-ROAS: 0.56 → 0.53
The story
YOUTUBE DOUBLED IN NC-ROAS PERFORMANCE
Meta stayed about the same, slighty down so it got caught taking credit for customers YouTube found first.
If you judge YouTube on a 1-day or 7-day window each week looking at prior weeks numbers you will always kill it.

People with skin in the game will constantly ask these types of questions in a business
What actually matters?
What's the evidence?
What's the simplest explanation?
What's the commercial consequence?
What happens if we're wrong?
Is this actually incremental?
What's the burden of proof?
What's most probable?
Major Google Ads update today.
Translation 'if you're campaigns were performing great historically, expect them to now go to shit'
If you have campaigns limited by budget with tCPA or tROAS applied - those are the at risk campaigns.
Previously these campaigns, as limited by budget, could exceed the tCPA / tROAS by only going into the most profitable auctions which budget allowed - that appears to no longer be the case.
Anything on tRAOS and tCPA it's going to make sense to increase daily budgets until the true constraint is CPA/ROAS not budget

Surveys will never fix AOV
Pull your heat maps, pull your customer surveys - they'll tell you friction points, they'll tell you the price is too expensive...
Customer data is never going to tell you 'I wish I spent more money'
The data is never going to say your AOV is low.
You have to push it into the site experience through merchandising and product discovery and other tactics
It gets missed in test ideation for brands unless you make it a priority
D2C Youtube Benchmarks (8 - 9 figure brands)
% of media spend on youtube
<3% - shit, youtube is not working for you
5% - okay most brands are here just porting meta
10% - achievable, but you need to be doing some youtube native practices
15%+ - excellent - youtube targeting is dialed, creative is native
This is with a 1DC ROAS equal to Meta
There is only ONE feature in Google ads that natively helps you spend less money - everything else ... (auto opt in to budget and targeting changes, auto generated creative to maximize placements, AI for search, branded terms now into PMax etc) ... is all built to maximize your spending
You can lower budgets freely
But to raise budgets beyond a point, you need 2 factor authentication (likely from too many fat finger mistakes and complaints)
Massive eCVR Lift with Localization / Personalization
We drove a 29% conversion rate lift with a 96% stat sig for an Australian Shopify brand through city level personalizations.
If there's an element of geographic pride, referencing the Geo like state or city can post some really incredible results. Makes the product feel FOR THEM
Can work really well for
-Distilleries
-Sports Teams
-Coffee Roasters
-Regional Foods
-Local Apparel
-Outdoor Brands
-Universities
-Artisan Goods

Your Youtube Ads Should be WAY longer.
Shorts have a 1-3 minute length limit.
But 16x9 format ads on youtube? There don't have that limit.
You could have two 15s ads you pulled from Meta and run on youtube.
In case 1 you run those 15s ads ad individual ads, in case two you 'mashup' the ads, and put them into a single back to back cut.
The mashup will almost always outperform.
Why? Because of the CPM / pay for views basis on youtube ads.
If a video 1m or 3m it wont change your cost, and a big % of people will just watch all the ad, or click through part way through - so it's free additional chances to build the brand by extending the ad (think - there are some legendary 20 - 45 minute VSL ads that run on youtube)
Try it.
Subscription Shopify Brands
Push bonus item on subscription HARD.
Try adding 4-10 line items of giveaways
Then lay out all the value in a table, right above the buy box.
For this Gin brand, we added 250k/year of recurring revenue through this tactic.
