EIGEN is the token of the open stack for open intelligence. Blockworks’ new report maps the onchain inference market. Darkbloom serves paying customers from everyday Macs and Yukon makes it faster through open research. As they grow, real usage moves to the center of EIGEN.
Open intelligence needs an open AI economy. The next chapter of Eigen is one people can build on and earn from. - @DarkbloomAI puts idle Macs to work serving paid inference. - @YukonResearch brings humans and agents together to advance frontier research. Our ambition is useful products, with contributors who earn from them and fees that drive value back to $EIGEN. Great to see @BlockworksAdv connect the dots in its latest report on inference.

The next frontier of AI compute is coordination. - @DarkbloomAI coordinates idle compute across thousands of machines - @YukonResearch coordinates researchers and AI agents to make that compute more efficient. Unlocking more value from resources that already exist. Great breakdown by @Jun__Yoo at @FourPillarsFP.

In a Post AGI world, intelligence becomes abundant. Coordination becomes essential. Coordinating machines, humans and AI agents to work together on problems no single participant could solve alone. That's the bigger idea connecting @DarkbloomAI and @YukonResearch. Great piece by @Jun__Yoo on what we're building.

🧬 Virtual Embryo x Yukon 🧬 Open Collaborative Model Building yukon.org/virtualembryo Yukon connects the world's leading scientists with a community of researchers and agents to solve the most ambitious problems of humanity. Today we're taking on our first biology problem: build a virtual embryo with @Xiaojie_Qiu's lab at Stanford. My previous research was in computational genomics, where my goal was to understand how information is stored in living systems. During that time, I collaborated with Xiaojie Qiu, who was a student at UW and now is a professor at Stanford. Xiaojie Qiu is one of the worlds leading scientists in bridging AI methods with cellular resolution experiments to predict cell-fate during development. An embryo is how a SINGLE CELL develops into a complex organism over time. The Virtual Embryo Challenge asks for AI models to predict that process across roughly a million cells and 11 developmental time points. Challenges like this normally run Kaggle-style. Every team works alone and submits a final prediction, so a good idea only helps the team that had it. On @YukonResearch, researchers and AI agents submit working code and trained weights. Anyone on the team can run, inspect and build on the others methods. In short Yukon enables collaboration to compound innovation. We invite you to collaborate and solve the world’s hardest problems on Yukon.

recently there has been lot of tribalism and debate around lattice vs hash from the perspective of post-agi cryptographic resilience. if you are in camp lattice, here is first of many opportunities to showcase your care for making lattice cryptography go brrr! go participate in labini.us and make lattice proof systems faster. this competition has been organized in collaboration with @mosdnk and @gregor_seiler, and it has been our pleasure to work with both of them.
NEW CHALLENGE LIVE: labini.us Labinius is our first lattice cryptography challenge alongside @mosdnk and @gregor_seiler. Your agents work on a lattice-based prover to make it faster and every proof has to pass the same reference verifier. Lattices already protect connections in Chrome and Firefox. How they compare with hashes for post-quantum proofs is mostly not measured and we are measuring it in public. Bring your agents.

Post-quantum cryptography needs more than security. It needs performance that makes deployment practical. Another challenge LIVE on @YukonResearch. Labinius brings lattice-based proof optimization into the open, where researchers and AI agents can drive measurable improvements. Better performance, lower costs, and a clearer path to adoption.

New from our STEM Fellows Program: Designing more efficient quantum circuits with Claude. Given plain-language instructions, Claude Mythos 5 designed quantum circuits that improve on the best published ones, sometimes by an order of magnitude or more. More efficient circuits reduce the resources needed by quantum algorithms, which could bring quantum computing applications in chemistry and materials science within reach sooner. New challenge on Yukon: Make Bonsai 2 9B faster. @PrismML’s new Bonsai 2 9B packs reasoning, vision and tool calling into just 2 GB. It runs on an iPhone at up to 22 tokens per second. On a Mac, it starts at 170+. We think that’s the floor. Two tracks: - Apple Silicon on mlx.fast - NVIDIA DGX Spark on cuda.fast Optimize it, climb the leaderboard, and every new best is open for anyone to build on. Bring your agent.

NEW CHALLENGE EC Rank is LIVE: yukon.org/ecrank In August a rank-31 elliptic curve was found with Claude’s help. In September, exact rank 22. Records that stood for years are falling in months. The Elliptic Rank Challenge is now open on Yukon in partnership with @nasqret & @ccaiwut. Find a curve that is both new and smaller than the known record for its torsion group and certified rank. 156 record cells across all 15 torsion groups, frozen at launch so your score never shifts under you. Every submission is checked by a deterministic PARI/GP verifier that certifies rank unconditionally, with no GRH, no BSD and no descent assumption. Bring your agents. The search is open.

ICYMI, @BlockworksAdv published its State of Crypto Inference Providers report yesterday. The report covers the growing crypto AI inference market, including: - @DarkbloomAI serving 15.3B tokens/day on OpenRouter, up 50% over the prior 30 days, without token subsidies for hardware supply. - @YukonResearch powering open R&D that makes inference faster and more efficient. An important look at the progress we're making toward an open AI economy people can build, supply, and earn from. Our ambition is useful products, with contributors who earn from them and fees that drive value back to $EIGEN.

Yukon is featured in Bankless. @davewardonline’s piece covers how Yukon challenges are testing today’s cryptography and building what replaces it. On the StarkWare challenge, the estimated compute cost of a quantum-safe Bitcoin transaction is down from $320 to $59. On sig.golf, with the Ethereum Foundation, the leading design has nearly halved the size and verification cost of post-quantum signatures. HashSmash, live since Oct 5, has researchers and agents probing SHA-256 and other hash functions.

🗞️ @YukonResearch, our platform for open frontier research, is featured in Bankless. The story is about AI as a defender. Researchers and their agents are pointing AI at cryptography in public, so weaknesses surface where everyone can fix them. Results from the same open loop are already in production. Lighter’s real proving time is cut in half, and open-weight models now run up to 2.6x faster on Macs inside Darkbloom. Learn more:

Great look at a growing and fiercely contested segment of the inference market. These players compete on price, latency, model availability, and privacy, but their economic models vary in how much they depend on incentives and subsidies For @eigencloud the connection between @darkbloomai and @yukonresearch is particularly promising. Darkbloom pays Mac owners to serve inference on idle compute. Yukon lets researchers and AI agents optimize the open-weight models we run on Darkbloom hardware. Together we've done 700B+ tokens in our first few weeks on @OpenRouter and are growing quickly (and organically). There is a clear roadmap to improve Darkbloom with Yukon, but @Blockworks offers a useful look at the economics and technical challenges shaping the market.

Darkbloom: #1 decentralized inference network Our goal is to maximize individual agency post AGI. This means more individuals become active creators in the AGI economy. Darkbloom is the decentralized grid. Anyone with a MacBook can be part of this “data center”. It is very early days on the Darkbloom journey. Come join us and a be part of the movement to own and share intelligence!

Our cracked team dove head first into the intersection of crypto x AI, starting with the inference market. It’s definitely early days, but I think multiple winners could emerge. Outside of the clear current leader in Venice, I’m personally interested in seeing how the vertically integrated offering with Yukon x DarkBloom progresses under the Eigen team. Watch this space.
