I’ve been lucky enough to work on two projects now with #JohnnyFlynn and @elrhode and something *magic* happens when they collaborate. This film could be something really special but they need YOUR help…! #CODES #FilmFunding #ShortFilm #Kickstarter kickstarter.com/projects/elr…

If only his colleagues had all been young working class women, ideally with little job security, none of this would have happened.

Factcheck: Maternity pay has existed since 1911 & is essential for women to make informed, supported reproductive choices. It is also currently at a level where 71% of women worry 'a lot' about money during maternity leave and 35% of new mothers skip meals to afford to live.
NEW - Kemi Badenoch tells Times Radio that maternity pay has "gone too far." “We need to have more personal responsibility. There was a time when there wasn’t any maternity pay and people were having more babies.”

In France ChatGPT is pronounced the same as 'Chat, j'ai pété' which means 'Cat, I have farted'. Which seems to sum the whole thing up pretty neatly.

The extreme Right are very loud rather than very popular. But as long as the media mistake loudness for popularity, the extreme Right will keep getting more airtime than their rivals. That’s not to underestimate the very real frustrations with politics that many of their supporters feel, but it does give us the first very real sign that the march of the Far Right is not as relentless and unstoppable as they would browbeat us into believing. It’ll be hard work and demand full attention, but they CAN be stopped. And that gives me hope.
So, in the end, both France and Britain voted against the far-right. Doesn't mean the threat is gone, but pay attention to the center, center left, green and center right voters who are still the majority in Europe, everywhere except Hungary.

Really ugly scenes during @jessphillips‘ acceptance speech. Absolutely appalling; men shouting down a woman when she’s legitimately won an election is disgraceful and a bad look for our democracy.

Let this sink in: 1/3 of performing arts freelancers reported average hour earnings below National Living Wage. 1/5 of performing arts freelancers work over 50 or more hours a week. If this was a salaried job it WOULD BE ILLEGAL. Via @FreelancersMake freelancersmaketheatrework.c…

Is “2k more tax “ the new “350 million NHS “bus slogan . Doesn’t need to be right. Just needs to be repeated . Have we come so little way since the grubby days of that campaign ??

Those asking if ‘The Thick of It’ is writing this election may want to note that today’s Tory immigration plan -shunt it off to an independent body to decide, so ministers can avoid talking specifics in interviews- is the main plot of 2009’s special ‘The Rise of the Nutters.’

Watching today, it feels wrong that the broadcasters are treating Nigel Farage as a Reform Party leader when he’s not an election candidate and he’s also plying his trade as a broadcaster. His appearances as an active politician should be strictly limited.
