3D printed a nice mini Stargate to go on top of my monitor. Came out great using a 0.2mm nozzle, keeping the detail on the symbols #SaveStargate

We didn't want a reimagining, inversion or twist. I've always held that in order for a new Stargate to be successful, you must appeal to new fans and old. Ideally, it would be a story that is a direct continuation of what came before in the cleanest way possible as many have suggested, but it's entirely possible that this was attempted (hint hint HIIIIINT) and didn't get anywhere so an alternate approach was taken that would still leave the door open to reintroducing and revisiting characters from the past. NOT reimagined versions of the characters but the actual characters.

Wouldn't this be interesting?
"Then you can spin off into multiple directions: a new SG team exploring the Milky Way, a new Atlantis-style expedition, a deep-space series, or even an entire series following characters and civilizations from the alternate universe. Meanwhile, Prime Daniel can return to our universe and become the connective tissue between the new shows and the original Stargate continuity." #SaveStargate
An alternate-universe Stargate series could have be the perfect way to start fresh without rebooting the franchise.
The hook: Prime Daniel Jackson—the Daniel we know from SG-1—is discovered alone aboard a ship in an alternate universe.
He has no idea how he got there.
This universe is different. Its history, Stargate program, characters and civilizations have taken completely different paths.
But Daniel remembers our universe.
That makes him the audience's bridge into this new reality. We discover the AU alongside him, while his knowledge of our timeline creates a constant mystery:
Why is this universe different?
What happened to the people he knew?
Where is this universe's Daniel?
And why was Prime Daniel brought here?
The first series can ultimately follow Daniel trying to understand this reality and find a way home.
But getting Daniel back shouldn't be the end—it should be the launch point.
By then, the series could have introduced new characters, teams, planets and civilizations that are strong enough to support their own shows.
Then you can spin off into multiple directions: a new SG team exploring the Milky Way, a new Atlantis-style expedition, a deep-space series, or even an entire series following characters and civilizations from the alternate universe.
Meanwhile, Prime Daniel can return to our universe and become the connective tissue between the new shows and the original Stargate continuity.
You don't reboot Stargate. You use the Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks) we know to open the door to a whole new Stargate universe—and potentially an entire new generation of spin-offs.
