A chartered Learjet 60, believed to be worth about $2 million, crashed in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, shortly after 1 p.m. after clipping a tree and bringing down power lines.
The impact was so loud that witnesses said it sounded like a missile.
Authorities reported multiple fatalities, though it remains unclear how many people were aboard the plane or whether anyone on the ground was killed or injured.
