It’s gonna be weird when AI starts hiring humans for tasks it can’t do

Thought I’d try this test of ChatGPT again. This morning it created an image of a panda(!) with what should have been a binary string. Tried it again and it came back random but when I looked closely it wasn’t from the data set I asked! It made up a random string. Bizarre.
I asked ChatGPT to express root seven’s irrational decimal places in graphic form by odds and evens and the gaslighting was disarming. Genuine post.

I challenged it and got the usual, ‘oh you’re right! I won’t do that again’ apologies. It immediately reverted back to lying in the same conversation.

We know that departments of government are using AI to make reports and aid work and data analysis. These tasks weren’t hard - indeed were very basic sequences of known reproducible data. Who knows what assumptions, shortcuts and untruths AI is bringing into our worlds.

Obviously me asking it these questions is a bit bizarre too 😉… however for it to fabricate the data set was really weird and troubling.

This man just took the same plastic recorder that used to sound like a dying goose in elementary school and casually started shredding Sultans of Swing on it. Eyes half-closed, fully committed, fingers flying like he actually practiced this instead of just surviving Hot Cross Buns. Somewhere a music teacher is watching this and having an existential crisis. The recorder has seen things. It will never be the same.

Part of what is alarming is I thought this was a straightforward task (albeit a bit unusual but that’s my 5am brain issue). This was no different, indeed it was even more straight forward than chucking data in and saying, ‘analyse and summarise’ which peeps do daily

In 1983, a BBC interviewer asked Richard Feynman why two magnets push each other apart — and he refused to answer it. What he did instead is the best seven minutes on thinking ever filmed. Bookmark & watch today, no matter what.

This says everything about the Trump presidency. Trump's doctors keep giving him tests for dementia because they are worried he's suffering from it. The jerk thinks it's an intelligence test and keeps bragging about how well he did.
Trump: "The first one is they show you a lion, a bear, a snake, and a giraffe. And they say, 'Which one is the giraffe?' I got a perfect score."
