Always good to remember the Libs don’t always do a Clegg.
#OTD 1951 1/4 -Liberal Party leader Clement Davies meets newly elected Conservative Prime Minister Winston Churchill at Churchill's London home at Hyde Park Gate. The meeting was to discuss Churchill's offer to include Davies in his cabinet as Minister for Education...

I think in many seats you’ll have to vote Labour to defeat Farage. That’s why the Labour Left is so important - we want to push Labour in the right direction.

Ben Kentish has just got owned on his own LBC show by Florence Schechter, a Jewish Green Party councillor on Hackney Council. worth a listen on catch up. She was having none of his nonsense 😂

28% was Michael Foot’s suicide note result. It’s now the tipping point for a Labour majority? 🙃
Significant moment. Based on the latest aggregate of the polls, Labour is now on course for an overall majority.

Israel's cheerleaders try to turn the world on its head. They try to portray opponents of genocide as the real moral disgraces. But you can only turn the world on its head for so long.

Burnham nearly polling as well as Michael Foot’s “longest suicide note in history” election (28%). 🙃

In 1983, the @LabourParty led by Michael Foot suffered a crushing defeat in the general election with 28% of the vote. Today @ElectCalculus suggests that Labour is on 28% of the vote and set to win a majority of 56 seats! Can @andyburnham really go the country on a system allowing a party with 28% of the vote to win a majority?
Our latest MRP poll with @PLMRLtd predicts that if there were a general election now, #Labour would win 353 seats, a majority of 56. #Conservatives would be the official opposition on 90 seats and #Reform would be third on 81 seats. Full figures ⤵️ electoralcalculus.co.uk/blog…

Haven’t the Libs lost more support than the Greens recently? It’s so important for BOTH to keep clear ideological difference between themselves and @andyburnham’s Labour.

I know the margin of error is just funny sometimes, but it is nice to see that overall the Greens aren't taking a massive hit to their polling despite the media onslaught just yet. I feel like 10% would still be roughly our minimum at an actual general election whatever happens

Genuinely, did Andy Burnham just say left wing things before Zack Polanski's by-election. Then only right wing things since. That's a level of cynical I didn't even realise Labour had reached yet.

Fast forward to general election and Farage will be in number 10 if this nonsense continues. #GetPRDone
This now means, as a result of Labour diktat from London, that Reform will control Havant council, rather than a coalition of Labour, the Greens and Lib Dems.

Hi @GreenRupertRead I respect your work I am a Jewish Green and actually I think the motion was correct in so far as Zionism IS racism and I also think the public are ahead of the Establishment on this issue I also think we should now move on to other issues such as 1. Climate crisis and 2. Opposing the GENOCIDE The second is absolutely linked to the first. To solve the climate crisis we need international law, norms and trust
It’s pretty safe to say that when one has alienated the likes of Aaron Bastani, George Monbiot and Peter Tatchell (not to mention Caroline Lucas, & all the Green MPs elected in 2024), as the ‘Zionism is Racism’ has succeeded (sic) in doing, then one has lost the public debate:

#PR still needs to be forced.
Interesting strategy. “Rather than chase more MPs by moderating its politics, Kumar says the Greens should use confrontation to shift the debate leftward and become an anti-establishment force.”

Interesting strategy. “Rather than chase more MPs by moderating its politics, Kumar says the Greens should use confrontation to shift the debate leftward and become an anti-establishment force.”
🎥 “We want to go the Farage route, not the Lib Dem route.” Ashok Kumar of Greens for Palestine spoke to Novara Media about strategy behind the Green Party’s “Zionism is racism” motion, which took a year to organize and was designed to expose Labour’s politics. He said PM Andy Burnham’s response revealed him as little different from Keir Starmer. Inspired by Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s France Unbowed and its “strategy of conflict,” the idea is to set the terms of debate, provoke a backlash, and heighten contradictions to force opponents to reveal positions. Rather than chase more MPs by moderating its politics, Kumar says the Greens should use confrontation to shift the debate leftward and become an anti-establishment force. “We want to drag [the paradigm] to the left kicking and screaming.” @comrade_kumar_ | @novaramedia
