Who read or watched The Birds and thought, 'What this really needs is a killer-on-the-loose subplot'?
HBO is developing a series reboot of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film “The Birds,” with Sarah Snook in the lead role. The official logline states: “Escaping a bitter custody battle, Myra Massey (Snook) returns home with her young daughter, secretly probing a childhood friend’s suspicious disappearance. With a killer on the loose and personal threats mounting, Myra fights to protect her daughter against a terrifying new menace: vicious, deadly bird attacks inexplicably tied to the crime.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/the…

Ooh, almost a bullseye. It reaches for a kind of literary poignancy and would have been better off sticking to the Stephen King-like pulp where it excels.
Watching now. I've heard mixed things about Hokum, which always intrigues me.

I get that Lugosi can be a little ripe for some people's tastes, but my god I can't take my eyes off him. A towering performance.
I can almost hear the haunting, tremulous notes of Swan Lake as I prepare to watch Dracula (1931)

AHS 13, sad to say, feels like really bad fan fiction.

Another great horror film recommendation for the spooky season, and one of my favourite films of all time. Quatermass and the Pit (1967) is an incredible horror film about an ancient discovery in the London Underground. Just, please watch this film.

I've just experienced the Baader–Meinhof phenomenon with the phrase "quirky chungus" and I think that means it's time for a nap.

Ginny was definitely planning on breaking up with Paul/letting him down gently at the start of this movie.
