We are the first utility in the U.S. to be issued a construction permit by the @NRCgov for the BWRX-300 small modular reactor, paving the way for advancing new nuclear innovation and enhancing America’s energy security.
This achievement was made possible through strong collaboration among local, state, and federal leaders, the NRC’s rigorous and transparent review, and industry partners.
Partnership is how progress happens — and the Tennessee Valley is leading the way.

"People want to come to a growing industry. They want to be part of nuclear, so they’re looking for that very clear signal that this is not a passing trend."
-Nicole Holmes, GE Vernova Hitachi CCO, on the keys to accelerating nuclear deployment at #NuclearSympo in London.
Join us at the 2026 #NuclearSympo in London hosted by @WorldNuclear. On Sept. 10 GVH CCO Nicole Holmes joins the “Set for Success” panel to discuss the operational models driving nuclear deployment. Stop by booths 26/27 to connect with our team.

On this day in 1971, Dresden Unit 3 first connected to the grid.
Dresden was the nation’s first full-scale, privately financed nuclear power plant and generates enough reliable power for more than 2 million homes in Illinois.

We are proud to announce our plans to develop 14 #BWRX300 small modular reactors across three sites in the #UK. Today, in London, SGE formally submitted its application under the UK’s Advanced Nuclear Framework (ANF) together with a proposal for a 4.2 GW fleet supported by a Contract for Difference (CfD) framework.
The deployment team brings together SGE, @gvhnuclear , Samsung C&T, @Laing_ORourke, @AeconGroupInc, @googlecloud, Etara, and an experienced nuclear operator, combining world-class nuclear, engineering, construction, and digital capabilities.
SGE’s proposal is based on a fleet deployment model, enabling standardised, repeatable delivery at scale. The programme envisages three multi-unit sites, with the first hosting six BWRX-300 reactors, followed by two additional sites in rapid succession. Working alongside the UK Government’s Advanced Nuclear Framework and with engagement from the National Wealth Fund, the project would add 4.2 GW of clean generating capacity, strengthening the UK’s energy security, industrial competitiveness, and long-term economic growth.
Our British project could deliver enough clean power for 11% of UK power demand or equivalent to an estimated almost eight million homes for at least sixty years.

Congratulations to @ORLEN_Synthos on reaching another important step in advancing the BWRX-300 project in Włocławek.
Inwestycja zakłada budowę do sześciu reaktorów i stanowi istotny krok w kierunku wdrażania zeroemisyjnych źródeł energii, zapewniających stabilne dostawy energii elektrycznej i ciepła.
Współpraca obejmuje m.in. działania informacyjne, edukacyjne oraz dialog ze społecznością lokalną. Projekt wspiera dekarbonizację systemów ciepłowniczych oraz rozwój gospodarczy regionu.

Who are we at SGE? What do we do? How does our business model work? And why do we believe the #BWRX300 is the right SMR technology choice for Europe? Our Chief Business Development Officer, Robert Rudich, addressed these questions during the “Addressing Investment Costs and Risk” panel at the regional Deploy #SMR Workshop focused on financing, hosted this week in Warsaw by the @CommerceGov.
As Robert said, we believe in this technology, so we have “put our money where our mouth is.” SGE, together with @gvhnuclear , @opg , and @TVAnews, has invested in the development of the #BWRX300, and we are now building a European fleet deployment platform around it.
Watch the video to hear Robert explain how SGE combines proven technology, private capital, government cooperation, and a fleet-based approach to deploy BWRX-300 #SMRs across Europe.

The future of nuclear energy is being built today. In this @ANS_org Nuclear News feature, GVH's Sean Sexstone shares how lessons learned, a growing supply chain, modular construction and a focus on repeatability are helping advance the first BWRX-300.

The foundation for the first small modular reactor being built in the Western World has been installed at the @opg Darlington New Nuclear Project site. This marks a significant milestone in the construction of the BWRX-300 reactor building.
This is what real looks like.
Last week, we lowered the close to 2,100,000-pound Basemat into place — the foundation for the G7's first Small Modular Reactor and Canada's first new nuclear build in more than 30 years.
One of the largest crawler cranes in the world lowered the Basemat module into the reactor shaft at the Darlington New Nuclear Project site — 35 metres below ground. It’s the first time in Canada a foundation for a reactor building was assembled modularly – putting the “M” in SMR – as the giant component was fabricated, welded, and put together in one piece before being lifted into place.
This was a milestone months in the making, requiring significant attention to detail and safety, as well as the hard work of dedicated trades and project partners.
Piece by piece, we're continuing to build one of the largest and most complex clean energy projects in Canada today. Learn more: bit.ly/4mSWI0w
Today at #CNA2026 GVH Canada Leader Lisa McBride will moderate a discussion “Energy Leadership: Ministerial Perspectives on the Nuclear Buildout.” The panel will include ministers from Ontario, New Brunswick and Alberta as well as the VP of nuclear development for SaskPower.
