Shopping-Samstag am Ku'damm? Fehlanzeige. 🪵 Samstag, Ku'damm, eigentlich der stärkste Tag für die Geschäfte. Heute sind viele Läden mit Holz und Planen verbarrikadiert: Dior, Prada, Cartier, Gucci, Bulgari und andere. Der Grund ist die Angst vor Vandalismus und gewaltbereiten Personen. Ich lebe seit 20 Jahren im Exil und habe so etwas noch nie erlebt: Geschäftsleute machen zu, weil sie Angst haben. Willkommen in Berlin. Willkommen in Deutschland, 2026. Was sagt ihr dazu? We bought apartments in Croatia for years. Specifically the ones nobody wanted. For context, my wife's an architect and together we ran a small real estate portfolio for years. Most of the apartments we bought were infested with cockroaches/rats. In one place, the previous owner died on the toilet. Everything was left exactly as it was. Even his slippers were still there. We’d buy those units as-is, invest another 20-30% on top to renovate, and rent them out for 20% less than a new place. But our delta was enormous because we paid 60% less than new. Most people don’t want to do that. They want to put in the key and have it be done. That’s the opportunity. Sweat. Always has been. In real estate, in hardware, and pretty much everywhere.
