Pretty much looks like DA will get roughly 35% in JHB. All things considered, I think that's a poor performance with Zille running. Yes they might get the mayor but it's the same result as 2011 but in 2016 they got 38%. So I don't think they should be too bullish here.

@drtlaleng You ran a beautiful campaign, Mama. Any day, any time, we would choose you to represent an idea that can never be brainwashed or diluted.
You gave us a beautiful picture of what Johannesburg could have looked like. You carried the policies and principles that make our movement unique with conviction. And that, to us, is what matters. Political outcomes may change, but convictions must never be for sale.
You have reminded us that leadership is also about standing firm in what you believe, even when the odds are against you. Till the wheels fall off, Dokotela! โค๏ธโ๐พ

In conclusionโฆ my analysis concludes that the White parties always find a way to consolidate (merge), but we as Black people always find a way to fragment our votes further. I conclude!

This is the history of the formation of the Black parties in South Africa. They all stem from the South African Native National Congress that rebranded to be ANC in 1923 (I have no Idea why it changed from being a South African project to be an African projectโฆoh maybe Exile).

The DA talking about "Black votes" is wild.
Race matters when it's votes but doesn't when it's redress.

DA support is not increasing massively, as claimed
There is no dispute that the ANC's election performance in 2026 was terrible.
But the attempt by the DA and some media to create the impression that the DA has made massive inroads in 2026 is not supported by the evidence.
While it has made some gains, the reality is far from the claimed blue tsunami:
- The DA is an 8.8% party representing a declining share of the population, dropping by over 3 percentage points: in 2026 it won votes from 8.8% of the total adult population, compared to 12.1% of the total adult population in 2016.
- The DA's proportion of the vote declined nearly 3 percentage points from 27.39% of the national vote in the 2016 local government elections, to only 24.59% in the 2026 elections.
- Despite claims of a massive increase in black voter support, the increase in DA support is at best modest, with election experts estimating total support by black voters for the DA in 2026 is still only a feeble 8% of total black votes.
So, read the pro-DA political propaganda with extreme caution!

The IEC plans to announce results tomorrow evening. They are busy addressing objections. I am astonished that there are only 197 so far (more could come in).
So, at Potch Central Primary 86910037 in ward 15 JB Marks, how does ANYBODY write down 1,072, 329, and 702 as votes cast?

Reducing this to Julius Malema misses the entire point. Whenever radical economic transformation and structural change threaten entrenched power, the system targets the individual to distract from the collective struggle.
Itโs not about one man; itโs about power defending itself.

Weโve normalized appeasement so deeply that basic honesty registers as an insult. When people crave performative politeness, directness feels like an attack and clarity sounds like hostility. Directness isnโt cruelty. @Julius_S_Malema must never apologise for speaking plainly.

Ok. Can we then agree that your position is not based on โdemocratic principlesโ but your personal feelings?
Cause if you argue that denying Helen Zille the mayoral chains violates the substantive intent of our democracy, then you should argue the same for any party. Cause democratic principles must be consistent regardless of โpersonal feelingsโ. Am I wrong?

I have no interest in the MKP or the EFF. I am convinced that they are destructive for South Africa. They will enable corruption, enhance state malfunction and result in societal collapse. Any party that enters into alliance with either does not have SAโs interest at heart.
They can form coalition with DA.
Let them work together.

ActionSA President Herman Mashaba says any political party wanting to govern alongside ActionSA must accept three conditions:
1๏ธโฃ ๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ข ๐ง๐ข๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ก๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฃ๐ง๐๐ข๐ก
Corruption must be treated as public enemy number one. No protecting corrupt politicians.

Coalition partners must support ActionSAโs position on removing undocumented foreign nationals from municipalities.
๐ณ๏ธ Mashaba says ActionSA is prepared to negotiate with political parties that accept these conditions.
