The @AbstractChain community didn't just grind XP and wait for an airdrop. People invested real money, time, and effort into this ecosystem.
How much? Let me remind you of a few examples that come to mind:
• Ultraman Badge-NFT : People bought dozens of boxes at $3 each for the Ultraman collaboration.
• Gacha Badge: You needed to buy at least 500 cards at $1.60 each.
• Multiplier Mommy Badge: Required completing 300 games, costing around $400–500.
• Cryptoys Badge: Different badges and XP were awarded to those who purchased 1 or 10 items priced at $40 each.
• Sock Master Badge: Some people spent $600–700 just to get this badge.
• Pudgy Penguins Mystery Box SBT: People received an SBT for burning a $100 mystery box. Around 2,000 boxes were burned.
And for many other badges, people spent another $5–20 each.
And that's just the money. We haven't even talked about the months of time and effort people put in.
These are just the examples I can remember right now. I'm sure there are many more, so feel free to add them in the comments.
And after all of that, what did the community get in return? Nothing.
Yet somehow, people are surprised that the community is upset.
Hey @LucaNetz and @CashBowie ,
Are you genuinely happy with how things are going and where the community stands today?
Please reconsider my post below. If possible, hand the network over to another team willing to carry it forward, or at least don't let the Abstract community's efforts go unrewarded.
During the $PENGU launch, you distributed airdrops to hundreds of thousands of wallets, many of which had questionable activity, and proudly presented it as a major achievement. And yes, I believe it was one too.
Yet today, you seem to have given up on rewarding the real community members who dedicated months, some even nearly two years, to Abstract.
Perhaps you think people will simply forget all of this. But what's being lost here isn't just rewards. It's the trust people placed in you.
Remember, Pudgy Penguins reached its ath during the PENGU launch, followed by another major peak during Abstract Season.
Whether you choose to view them as separate projects or not, the community has always seen Pudgy Penguins and Abstract as closely connected.
That's why assuming the loss of trust in Abstract won't affect the future of Pudgy Penguins could be a serious mistake.
It's understandable that a blockchain might not achieve the success everyone hoped for. But that doesn't justify ignoring the efforts of those who believed in it, dedicated their time, and helped it grow.
You can shut down @AbstractChain But you should also consider the consequences of losing the trust of the community you're leaving behind.
It's not too late. Please bring this chapter to a more respectful and fair conclusion.
The community never turned its back on Abstract.

I had been so busy that I hadn’t even considered writing about this. But after seeing what Berko posted in the Abstract Quant channel, I decided I had to make time to speak up.
If this is a business, why are its customers being treated like beggars?
People defending Luca’s decision say, “This is a business,” and “It wasn’t profitable, so there was no other choice.” At the same time, they dismiss the people who were active on Abstract as farmers who were only after free rewards, and even treat them like “beggars.”
@LucaNetz @pudgypenguins @AbstractChain
But isn’t that ironic? Luca sold Pudgy Mystery Boxes to those very people they call “beggars,” and Abstract earned revenue from the gas fees those people paid to use the chain. I was active for about a year, but others spent far longer investing their time and money in this ecosystem. These were customers who paid real money to use the service.
If you call Abstract a business, why are you treating the customers who paid to use that business like beggars?
We spent our money and time because we trusted them
The money those people being mocked spent in the Abstract ecosystem was anything but insignificant. One person said they spent $300,000. Why did we spend so much time and money? Because we trusted Luca and the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem. I also started using Abstract because I trusted them, and I even bought a main Pudgy to join the community.
But now, some people in the Pudgy community treat anyone who criticizes Luca or does not support this decision as an enemy. Many Abstract users are also main Pudgy and Lil Pudgy holders. Why do they ignore the fact that the people they are mocking are fellow holders who trusted and supported the same ecosystem?
While reading posts about this, I also came across an account of an Abstract user who had spent a lot of money being subjected to racist remarks. Isn’t it shameful to direct racism at someone who has suffered losses, as if mocking them weren’t enough?
Also, according to Crocy’s post, he personally prepared gifts and gave them to 10 people from the Pudgy and Abstract teams, yet not a single one of them thanked him. I think this also shows how they respond to the goodwill and effort of their community. Isn’t saying a simple thank-you to someone who supports you and even prepares a gift for you the most basic courtesy?
Luca’s decision created an escape route for people to run away when their businesses fail in web3.
Among those supporting Luca’s decision, I see many people who run businesses or work on projects in web3. Of course, some may defend him because they are personally friends with him. But I also find myself wondering: are they so quick to defend this decision because it creates a precedent that will let them avoid responsibility by saying, “The business simply didn’t work out,” whenever they want to shut down their own businesses?
I think this will give other projects an excuse to walk away irresponsibly. Businesses can fail. But that does not erase their responsibility during the shutdown process or the basic courtesy they owe their customers.
After building our hopes, they gave us a shutdown announcement and a liability waiver
What I especially cannot accept is the way they behaved leading up to the shutdown announcement.
They promoted “Project Quantum,” reached out to active users for one-on-one conversations, and collected feedback. Those actions gave users the belief that Abstract would continue and that, even if things seemed quiet on the surface, something was being prepared behind the scenes.
But on the day we were waiting for the XP announcement, what we received was a project shutdown announcement and a liability waiver. When I used the website, I could not access its other features without agreeing to that waiver.
It was a truly cowardly way to handle things.
After continuing to build users’ hopes and getting them to spend their time and money, they demanded agreement to a liability waiver alongside the shutdown announcement, while publicly saying, “We did our best.” Is this really a responsible way to end things? Can saying it was a business decision justify this entire process?
Berko, think about the weight of your position and your words
I also want to talk about Berko’s remarks.
He said this in the Abstract Quant channel
“in my personal opinion tbh with the way people are acting currently, they're only further proving that the winddown was the correct decision”
Whenever this statement is criticized, he explains that it was “in context of me seeing violent threats and wild accusations.”
But the people in the Abstract community who lost a lot of money and expressed their disappointment did not act violently or make threats. And if you lump the community’s reactions together as “proof that the shutdown was the right decision” because of some people’s behavior, where does that leave those who raised legitimate concerns?
I want to ask him: What is your position, and what responsibility do you think comes with it? Surely that position is more than just a title. You need to think about the weight your words carry within the community.
Another user in the Abstract Quant channel said:
“All I'm seeing in the pudgy discord is people saying ‘oh good thing the focus is back to pudgy’ and then I'm like if that was the point from the start what was the point of all this
Wasting our time and money?”
To this, Berko replied:
“Yeah pandy they spent millions just for fun to lose money, surely
Or, it simply didn’t pan out
Return to common sense”
Was it really necessary to be this sarcastic toward a disappointed community member? Does the fact that the team’s business failed make the time and money users lost meaningless?
I could not feel any understanding of users’ sense of loss or any remorse in that reply. His behavior came across like someone telling grieving family members at a funeral, “Isn’t it a good thing that the deceased is no longer in pain?” The person saying it may think they have their own logic, but it shows no consideration whatsoever for the grief of the people hearing it.
Are you certain the same thing will not happen to Pudgy?
I also want to ask those who treat everyone who criticizes Luca as an enemy
After seeing this decision, can you confidently say that the same thing will not happen to Pudgy’s web3 business? If he decides to shut that down for business reasons too, will you say the same things then? What trust are you basing your support for him on, and why are you mocking people who say that their trust has been broken?
Are we customers when we spend money, but beggars when we criticize?
I also spent quite a lot of money on Abstract, but thankfully, I was able to recover my losses through Rave and MOG. In fact, my biggest loss came from buying and then selling a main Pudgy.
Even so, I am writing this because I cannot accept the way people who spent real money supporting the ecosystem are being treated as if they were only after free money.
In particular, I saw !tinoz.eth repeatedly criticizing Abstract users in the Pudgy Discord as “beggars” or “free money farmers.”
Then what does that make the business that sold products to those “beggars” and earned revenue from the money those “farmers” paid?
Does that make Luca, who earned income from those beggars, the king of beggars..?
Ultimately, those words deny whose money and participation kept the very business they are defending running.
If you want to explain the failure of a business, start by respecting the customers who trusted and used it. Supporting Luca’s decision and insulting the people hurt by that decision are two separate things.
Before demanding common sense from disappointed people, I hope you take a look at your own attitude toward them.

Jul 29 DM from Daila: the next phase is finally starting, and those who stayed will be taken care of first.

Early Aug call with Daila and a senior exec (per Marcello): "something big is coming, V2 is almost done."
x.com/marcellovtv/status/210…
Late Aug call (per chesus): the team stayed off X on legal advice, the penguin branding was dropped since the brands are separate, and term sheets for a big deal were signed, pending announcement.
x.com/chesus/status/21053832…
In reality, two senior leads quit in August, the official account went quiet, and shutdown rumors spread.
Result: shutdown announced Oct 6, chain halts Dec 15, funds left on it are lost. No token, no rewards for XP, badges or streaming. No V2, no deal.
Red flags got plausible excuses and talk of a "next phase." No apology since. If Daila knew, users were deceived; if not, unverified claims were sold as fact. Don't trust Daila's "something big is coming" until confirmed.

did you know that the terms you casually agreed to by checking that box to withdraw your money are packed with toxic clauses?
but you can’t even withdraw your money unless you agree, so it’s basically forced consent lol
🚨 summary of the major toxic clauses in abstract’s terms of service (tos)
1. the company isn’t responsible even if your assets disappear
no liability for asset losses caused by hacking, security vulnerabilities, or the company’s ordinary negligence.
if the service shuts down, any assets not transferred out by the deadline will be permanently lost.
2. extreme limits that make it hard to get compensation
even if the company is held liable for its negligence, compensation is capped at the fees you paid over the past year or $100, whichever is greater.
3. stripped of legal rights (no lawsuits)
disputes can only be resolved through u.s. arbitration (aaa), not domestic courts. class actions are prohibited.
you have just one year to bring a claim after the grounds for it arise.
4. all responsibility falls on the user
if a dispute arises from a violation of the terms or similar reasons, the user must fully reimburse the company for its defense costs, including attorney fees.
😂
this is after asking for it to be summarized twice
is an agreement this coercive even legally enforceable?
abstract, luca netz, and igloo. comedy in long shot.
When I heard in the middle of the night that Abstract was basically over... I don’t think I could fully believe it.
I trusted @LucaNetz .
Luca was the founder who made @pudgypenguins success.
No one could really argue with that.
He was the real deal.
So when he started building @AbstractChain , I thought it was something worth believing in too.
That’s why I bet on it.
That’s really all it was.
And knowing that some people may have followed me and played the Abstract ecosystem because of what I said makes this hurt even more.
Is it really a sin to dream in crypto?
If even a founder like Luca, someone of that caliber, can turn his back on the community, then what are we supposed to believe in anymore?
What am I supposed to believe in?
What are we supposed to believe in?
I feel terrible in so many ways.
It hurts.
It genuinely hurts.
And more than anything, there are people who have been with Abstract for a very, very long time.
The pain and sadness they must be feeling is probably on a level I can’t even begin to imagine.
Luca...
I’m sure you had your reasons.
You probably did.
Right?
But you also need to remember that every single one of us had our own reasons too.
Our own stories.
Our own hopes.
We were there.
We were there with Abstract.
Not anymore, though.
Replying to @LucaNetz
@LucaNetz isn’t the only person to take on something he can’t handle and then walk away.
but abstract demanded so much loyalty and engagement for so long, only to treat the users who worked hardest to meet those expectations like trash.
this is a soft rug that deserves to go down in crypto history.
of course, he’s not the only one responsible. we also bear a lot of responsibility for trusting him. because almost all of us were skeptical of layer 2s but got involved anyway, trusting his ability to make it work.
the more you trusted luca netz and pudgy penguins, the more you probably lost, whether it was money or time.
luca netz’s statement says nothing about what users lost. it only talks about how much he and his company lost.
as if to mock all of this, the prices of solana:2zMMhcVQEXDtdE6vsFS7S7D5oUodfJHE8vd1gnBouauv and pudgy penguins will hold steady or rise for a while. they’ll manipulate the prices themselves, if only to show that the project is still going strong.
even so, people won’t trust him as much as they used to. trust is the lifeblood of a community based business. just watch.
i’ve seen how he treats loyal users.
return to pudgy penguins? i’m not going back.
P.S. the head of the project shouldn’t be saying things like “i lost money too.”
grow up.
What hurts more than the shutdown of @AbstractChain itself is the attitude and explanation Luca showed across Discord and the Spaces.
Shutting down a chain to prevent reckless token launches amid financial exhaustion and poor market conditions is a business decision one can logically understand.
But narrative he pushed today sounded far less like the calculated leadership of a founder and far more like defensive complaining designed to shift the blame of system failure onto the community.
The most damaging remark was his claim that whether you spent money and time on the chain he lost a few million as well so everyone is in the same boat.
This is textbook deflective communication that invalidates the other party entirely.
The entrepreneurial risk a founder shoulders and the opportunity cost of regular users who poured time and liquidity into an ecosystem based on trust are fundamentally different.
Equating the community devotion to personal capital loss as if both sides are even completely dismisses the organic effort people put in.
It is equally contradictory to complain that capital was drained by cherry pickers and airdrop farmers while asking why people could not just be real users instead of farming.
The team itself designed the system where every onchain activity was tied to XP and reinforced by a competitive ranking structure. Designing an incentive loop that naturally drives farming behavior and then blaming the users who acted logically within those rules is nothing more than deflecting a failure in product and game design.
The vast majority of the explanation today centered on self defense such as fearing community disappointment and pleading for empathy regarding how hard he fought.
Abstract shutdown was certainly not an impulse decision made overnight.
It was likely a calculated exit strategy planned weeks in advance with legal counsel.
The fact that after so much preparation the core takeaway delivered to the public was the posture of being the ultimate victim reveals a severe absence of true accountability.
Closing the Spaces by apologizing for the wasted time and money on Abstract while asserting that his ultimate responsibility lies with Pudgy Penguins is a convenient shield. The core users who rushed in early to generate volume and support the chain were the exact supporters who believed in @pudgypenguins vision in the first place.
Using one community as a moral shield to write off the disappointment of another cannot be branded as responsibility.
A venture can miss its golden window and fail due to poor execution or macro conditions.
What remains unacceptable is belittling the participants of a game you designed while using personal losses to erase the collective sacrifice of the community.
When a project that champions a community first ethos concludes with this level of disregard it sets a bitter precedent for anyone considering putting their time and faith into a founder vision.
Had some balance left, did a few pulls for fun, and hit an S-tier on my second try... @renaissxyz is god?🤔
@renaissxyz @RenaissKrCM
@renaissxyz @RenaissKrCM
@renaissxyz @RenaissKrCM
