Biggest sign of how far the NBA and pro sports have come on gambling:
David Stern wouldn't let Toronto get its expansion franchise in the 1990s until Ontario stopped letting people bet on NBA games. The Vancouver ownership group preemptively reached a deal with BC to do the same.
From the great @SmithRaps in his 1994 story: "League officials said they didn't want people 'betting the grocery money' on games and wanted fans 'to cheer for the team, not the point spread.'"

It's no wonder we have runaway intercounty spending when clubs are paying 3.5k for stats. Any club that spends that is doing a disservice to the members who volunteer and fundraise for an amateur organistion.

In the middle of a housing crisis but at today's @LimerickCouncil meeting a pretty modest 5 storey(in places, see images) housing development was voted to be reduced to 3 storeys cutting potential units from 20 to 15 units.
