It’s scary to give out commit access to your projects. @willingcarol, @brandontroberts, and @balloob talk about how to recruit and onboard contributors you already know and trust. gh.io/AAkt3li

🏠 Home Assistant, the most popular open source home automation system, was #builtwithLit!
@home_assistant runs locally on your own hardware (like a #RasperryPi), complete with light, temp and music control - and more.

Update: pybluez is not compatible with Python 3.10 and they never released some things after 2019. I suggest that every you use for Bluetooth handling, use Bleak otherwise it would properly not work with @home_assistant 2022.07

We can't longer support the unmaintained old library blueby at @home_assistant. This means your custom/integration which uses this, stops working. We strongly recommend replacing it with Bleak, a maintained and modern BLE python library

I need some help 🙄 I’m looking for an esp32 with lowest power consumption. Preferably <250mA-ish. Only requirements are BLE, WiFi and a few channels (will use only rx probably). All I’ve seen are already between 300~500mA. @EspressifSystem @esphome_ @home_assistant

It has come to our attention that certain custom integrations have security issues and could potentially leak sensitive information.
The latest version of Home Assistant adds extra protection.
⚠️ Update your instance as soon as possible.
