Seven years ago, Lula was in prison serving an unjust conviction. Today, he is the re-elected president of Brazil. In 2018, he said “there is no point in trying to end my ideas, they are already lingering in the air”. Lula’s ideas don't just linger. They live! Viva Lula!

Brazil has just delivered something the world desperately needed: proof that the authoritarian wave is neither unstoppable nor irreversible. Bolsonarism was defeated, despite the political pressure coming from Trump's America. And the Amazon, once again, has a fighting chance.

Buried on page 30 of 'Sir' David Bellend's report into antisemitism in schools in the UK it explicitly says there hasn't been a rise in antisemitism, only in anti-Israel sentiment. Astonishingly fraudulent crisis/debate, all to shield a genocidal state

Getting dark at 3.30pm for 3 months makes everyone want to kill themselves. And it would cost nothing to change it.
The clocks go back by one hour on 25 October at 2am, which means you’ll gain an hour ⏰ What will you do with the extra time? Let us know below 👇

when i was a healthcare assistant in the NHS, if you had a shift the night the clocks went back, you worked an extra hour but you didn't get paid for it so i guess i'll probably use the extra hour getting angry about wage theft

they care more about a Louis Vuitton being looted than about teenagers losing their hands, eyes and jaw to police brutality, abt people having to skip meals bc the price of everything keeps increasing, abt the lack of hospital beds and teacher in schools, abt the rise of fascism

Getting blown up by a Russian drone to protect my beautiful nation of privatised water companies, boarded up shops, cracked paving, and political-media class who think I’m a racist because I oppose a genocide. No thanks mate.

The tabloids have invented this alternate-universe Britain where you phone the DWP, tell them you’ve got a peanut allergy or a sore finger, and suddenly they’re paying your rent and buying you a free car - and somehow, people believe that’s how it actually works.

Neither Cartier-Bresson, Banksy nor Cold War Steve could have come up with such an image. Absolutely perfect composition and lighting (even the road signs are perfect)! 😍

An underdiscussed part of modern capitalism is how low-wage workers are often micromanaged every minute they’re on the clock, while many high-wage jobs come with hours of unstructured computer time where no one really cares what you’re doing as long as the work gets done.

I really hate the “no person who works a full-time job should live in poverty” discourse. It should simply be that nobody deserves to live in poverty. We have to let go of the idea that we work in exchange for our worth. People are innately worthy and deserving of the basics.

So people earn more than 100k because they work harder? Than who? There are people in this country who literally work themselves into an early grave for a pittance, or kill themselves working two or more jobs, as more than a million people do. Enough with this Tory myth.
“We don’t want you to be punished for working harder” Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch defends her new proposal to scrap the "cliff edge" that means parents in England lose out on childcare support when they earn more than £100,000 a year #BBCLauraK bbc.co.uk/news/live/c8n5d3k4…

🔥🔥🔥This is one hell of an essay.🔥🔥🔥 "Here is the problem: not one man in that fraternity reported what was happening to a woman being drugged and raped down the hall. Not one. That is “not all men”—in practice. Male violence does not survive without male silence."
This is an article for men. Women already know this. A few months ago I wrote an article titled “Women are not safe around men” and I got 100s of messages from angry men chewing me out. This week a woman filed a civil suit against 7 men at Cornell University for drugging, trafficking, and raping her. Zero have faced any criminal charges. Men throughout the societal ladder are complicit. Women are not safe around men. And the data is devastating. qasimrashid.com/p/cornell-un…

one of the hardest things about living with sexual trauma is being re-traumatized every time there’s a heavily publicized case in the news. watching people litigate and demonize other victims. makes you wonder what the point of any of it is, if it’s even worth speaking up at all.
