Super insightful talk by Khairi Azmi (Head of APAC @Paxos) at @arbitrum Open House Singapore.
Two points really stuck with me:
1. “The first meeting is always cheap.”
He said he almost always says yes to a first meeting. But the real work happens in the second meeting, when things actually move forward.
2. “What do you really want from this conversation?”
Too many founders simply say, “I want a partnership.”
But “partnership” is too broad. Instead, be specific: “I need THIS from Paxos.”
This second point really resonated with me. I think founders should prepare for every meeting with two clear answers:
→ What exactly do I want from you?
→ What can I offer you in return?
I actually asked Khairi about this during the Q&A. Small startups often have very little to offer large companies in return, so how should they approach these conversations?
His answer was interesting: Don’t underestimate the emotional side of relationships. If he genuinely likes the person, the conversation naturally goes much better.
My takeaway: Small startup founders should spend more time developing their meeting skills, especially how to communicate their value and build genuine relationships.
Sometimes, how you approach a conversation matters just as much as what you’re building. 💡

A $96B Nasdaq stock went 121x in a single trade last week.
Not on Nasdaq. On Robinhood Chain.
Datadog ($DDOG) trades there as a tokenized stock, and its pool looks nothing like the real market.
What happened:
1. A bot kept buying through the market maker's band.
2. Price ran from $267 to $32,458 in one wick.
3. The only liquidity up there was our full-range $lpDDOG vault.
4. Every one of those buys paid it the full 1% fee.
👉🏻 $lpDDOG NAV: 7.3x in three hours.
Why this keeps happening:
1. Stock tokens on Robinhood Chain have scattered, shallow liquidity.
2. Market makers sit in tight bands and keep moving them.
3. Outside the band, nothing.
So when price breaks out, up or down, full-range LPs are the only ones left standing. They collect the whole fee on the move.
Concentrated LPs go dark the moment price leaves their range.
Full range never does.
