Dads in their 40s who are fit and healthy are 100x more impressive than the 24 year old fitness guru without kids

Coaching…. 1. Do no harm. 2. Coach the athlete in front of you. #1 - don’t do stupid $h!t #2 - research is cool, but should not drive most decisions.

I’m trying to post less political stuff, but blaming the current cost of living on the previous administration is just WILD
JD Vance makes a recommendation on who to vote for in the midterms: "Vote for the people who have solutions to lower the cost of gas, don't vote for the people who made the problem to begin with."

800m data nerd! Collected splits for every sub 1:42 race from 1981-2026 to see what the data tells us (see thread). Rudisha’s 1:41.33 from 2011 was the only one I couldn’t get 200/400 splits for 😤

And not even “what will make this team better” But, what decisions can I make right now that the team NEEDS, whether I like it or not.
Something I wish I would've understood when I was younger: How much time coaches spend thinking about what's best for the team.

This man could not be more disingenuous about the presence of boosters in CFB
NEW: Nick Saban on NIL and boosters causing more head coach firings in College Football: "The cause and effect of paying players is we’re raising money from alumni who now think they should have a say in what happens, and that’s why 33 coaches got fired last year." Followed up with 5K PRs the next day. Endurance training and speed training are not mutually exclusive.
Flying 30s for BCXC today 23 out of 37 runners PRd plus 2 = their PR plus 6 within 1% of their PR In October, on the heaviest training of their life. You can train for distance and still run fast, if you do it right.

I think football players should only do off season 7 on 7 tournaments in trainers...no cleats!!! They just can't handle it....the stress! ...see how dumb that sounds?! It's okay to spike up for sprint sessions early in the season. I’ve gotten a fair amount of messages asking if we test in spikes. Like what?! Who tests in flats? What's the point?
