Incels never beating the "I'm still mad at my elementary school teacher" allegations
We dont talk enough about how male students with an IQ of 105 or greater begin to outsmart their female teachers at ~3rd grade and the resentment that breeds.

JD Vance thinks you should have to speak English to receive care at a hospital. Wait until he hears about neonatal intensive care units. The audacity of those babies expecting care when they don’t even speak the language.

holy father are you applying to phds this cycle as well
Our likeness to Christ also matures in the midst of difficulties, such as when work seems fruitless, when our strength wanes or when we must start anew. Eventually endurance leaves its mark. Over the years, a gaze can become more merciful, hands more willing to serve and words more capable of comforting. May trials always find us united to Jesus, so that they may help us to grow in His love. #ApostolicJourney #Uruguay

begging twitter men to stop thinking they're the forefathers of some lineage that will go down in history and move their families to remote areas where they won't provide for them and get. a. job.
My dear friends and fellow radicals, the day finally came where I'm genuinely in need of one of these. I aimed for the least amount to get us over the hump. Any help would be appreciated, especially in sharing this. Pray much and suffer well 💪⚜️ gofund.me/56f2dcd37

Stuff Chris Hedges and Ralph Nader were saying in the Obama Era now coming from a Democratic Senator from Texas. We have entered the new world.
James Talarico traces 50 years of trickle-down back to one 1971 document, the Powell memo, a corporate blueprint to buy power “In fact, you can, you can pinpoint this one document called the Powell memo, 1971.” “But if you read this memo, it's basically a blueprint for how corporate interests can start to dismantle the Great Society and the New Deal” “They're going to spend massive amounts of money in our politics, buying politicians in both parties, elevate corporate voices in media, appoint sympathetic judges.” “And that has really been the story of the last 50 years in this country, last five decades.” w/ @jamestalarico

Como no me voy a sentir intelectualmente superior a esta peña
Me acabo de enterar de que los niños abortados pueden no ir al Cielo porque se quedan con odio y rencor vagando por ahí.

Abdul El-Sayed: I am going to be JD Vance’s greatest nightmare and bully in the Senate. Dr. Annie Andrews: Hold my beer.

The entire point of congestion pricing is that people hate it enough to take alternative means of transportation
The sentiment is mocked pretty heavily by urbanist twitter, but Long Islanders (including many people in Brooklyn and Queens) *hate* congestion pricing and the dezoning attempts put forth by Hochul.

It’s so clear that AI-generated content is a supply in search of demand. People want things made by other people If you, like Buzzfeed Jonah, have become AI red pilled, do us all a favor and go get a tech job creating AI dashboards that show you how to read your other dashboards

Not going to litigate this, but in general, and specifically in the case of a PhD, "you can just teach yourself" is utter, complete, dangerous, right-wing, anti-education horseshit ultimately intended to attack civil society at its roots.
Also, anything you do in a PhD, you can do in your own time. With platforms like substack, research, reading, reflection, and reaching out to audiences have become democratised and widely available. The PhD is about credentialism, membership of a club deemed prestigious, baubles.

anyone who tells you that reading or writing substacks is the same kind of intellectual engagement as a phd is lying to you lmao

I would expect a professor to know that graduate students are essentially junior faculty/research fellows. Tuition remission is offered by every serious programme, and the number that the students aren't paying is entirely irrelevant.
Does this guy realize he's getting a Harvard PhD education for free (tuition is 60k per year at Harvard, and most PhD students don't pay it)? Does this guy realize the extensive margin effect of these strikes? At UCI, PhD enrollment fell 30.3% from F22 to F23 after the strike.
