Meet the Honghu Mark 1, China's fully tilting rotor eVTOL, developed by a team from Northwestern Polytechnical University! It lifts off like a helicopter, then tilts its rotors forward to cruise like a plane at 290 km/h! It carries 5 people, has a max takeoff weight of 2,500 kg, and flies 60 minutes on one charge! At just 65 decibels, it is as quiet as a passing car, and its all-electric design makes it far cheaper to run!

You can't, in one breath, say “Nigeria is poor” and then show ministers driving Rolls-Royce and civil servants flying private jets Your optics don't match your data No minister anywhere in the UK, US, EU or OECD drives a Rolls-Royce in official capacity; none (even if they can afford it) If Nigeria is poor? (she is not) then let the “poverty” reflect in how the executive and legislature spend public taxes

هذا الطفل مضطرب تماماً‼️ nitter.gq/ddakzip/status/2116687…

🇨🇳 Controlled nuclear fusion has long been one of the greatest challenges facing scientists worldwide. On Bilibili, I watched footage presented by Chinese scientists showing the interior of EAST, a fusion device independently built by China. EAST has now achieved steady-state high-confinement plasma operation for 1,066 seconds at temperatures exceeding 100 million degrees Celsius. This is a major step forward in fusion research and a reminder of China's growing role in shaping the future of clean energy. China’s scientific community has no kings, no obsession with awards and no elite self-congratulation. It is driven by one determination: to bring science out of the laboratory and put it to work for humanity. China does not need Nobel Prizes to prove its worth. Chinese technology is not about accolades or trophies. It is about solving real problems and genuinely serving the people. China is not just transforming the world—it is building the future!

This is the most insane demo I’ve seen. Subvocal YC F26 lets you speak completely silently and reads the minute movements of your face. So you can talk to your AI anytime. AI + sensors is magic. What’s crazier is they built this in 4 months. This demo was live yesterday evening at the YC office.
We’ve raised $1.3M from YC & Afore Capital so you never have to type or speak again. Typing is slow. Talking into your computer is awkward. Subvocal fixes both Our glasses give you the speed of speech without you making a sound or touching a keyboard. It tracks your internal speech muscles with non-contact sensing and decodes silent, almost invisible mouthing into text at more than 200 words/min. Pre-orders are now live at: subvocal.co/preorder?utm_sou…

They said African languages were too fragmented, too complex and too commercially insignificant to build advanced AI for. We disagreed. So we built it. 64 languages. 166 voices. 3 billion parameters. ONE model. Today, we are unveiling STORM-Ensemble 3.0, the most capable multilingual speech synthesis model we have built at PlotWeaver. From Yorùbá, Igbo, Hausa and Nigerian Pidgin to Swahili, Amharic, Wolof, Zulu, Xhosa and dozens more, STORM-Ensemble 3.0 generates speech across 64 languages, with 166 distinct speaker voices. Every voice you hear is generated by our model, not a prerecorded sample. But the real breakthrough isn't the numbers. It's what becomes possible when this technology is in the hands of people who can build with it. -African filmmakers distributing stories across languages. -Banks and telcos serving customers in their mother tongues. -Education platforms reaching more children. -Developers building voice AI products without starting from scratch. We are not building AI for African languages simply to prove it can be done. We are building the infrastructure to make our languages commercially viable at global scale. Next week, I will be speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Antigua about unlocking the Commonwealth's creative potential. This launch is a practical demonstration of that ambition. Africa must not simply consume the future of AI. We must build, own and shape the infrastructure that powers it. Watch the video. Listen to the voices. Imagine what's possible. Introducing STORM-Ensemble 3.0. PlotWeaver. Build Once. Speak Every Language. #PlotWeaver #STORMEnsemble #VoiceAI #AfricanLanguages

BREAKING: A fusion startup says it has turned mercury into gold, producing 10 times more than CERN's previous record. Marathon Fusion says it achieved this using nuclear fusion. For now, the amounts are tiny. But gold's price depends on it being rare, so anything that makes gold easier to produce is worth watching.

Samsung is offering engineers bonuses of up to $560,000 to stop them from joining China’s chip industry. A parliamentary review found at least 27 senior engineers from Samsung and SK Hynix have moved to China’s CXMT (the country’s biggest DRAM maker). Together they had over 400 years of experience. China is offering big pay jumps + housing + multi-year deals. Source: Asia Times

You have to see this:
Hackers stole 10GB of data from a casino… through a FISH TANK. Not a computer. Not a phone. A FISH TANK. The funny part is you probably have something in your home with the same weakness.

China is building around 69 power semiconductor fabs (under construction, planned, or ramping) across 58 suppliers 15 are planned, 29 are under construction, and 25 are ramping up production
This is a really interesting chart. I attended the TrendForce San Francisco roadshow yesterday, and this chart got me thinking about a lot of things. China is now expected to localize more than half, or close to half, of most equipment categories, excluding lithography and track. What does this mean? It means China can now expand mature node capacity far more easily than before, using equipment made domestically within China. Mature node foundries are booming right now, right? That's thanks to the AI supercycle driving demand for PMICs, power semiconductors, and so on. Samsung and TSMC shutting down their mature node capacity has also helped a lot. But here's what I imagine... that China could oversupply mature foundry capacity. Think about it. If China can be self sufficient in equipment, there's no limit to how far it can expand capacity. Then are companies like TI, with large revenue exposure to China, really safe? I think it's time to take another look at Western mature foundry companies with a high share of China revenue. Of course, I'm not saying sell TI right now. I'm just saying we should think about whether it makes sense to hold them for 10 years or more, like Coca Cola. If you have a different view, please feel free to share it. I’d love to learn.

Look at the thin wall on the front print. There are signs of keyholing, where excess laser energy destabilizes the melt pool and traps pores. The hatch rotates 67° each layer, yet some orientations look clean. It’s immediately obvious that hitting thin walls with hatch spanning the width instead of length is optimal Simulation matters. So does inspecting your prints.🤝
