It is sheer lunacy that there are debates over the Poppy. In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row,     That mark our place; and in the sky     The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,     Loved and were loved, and now we lie,         In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw     The torch; be yours to hold it high.     If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow         In Flanders fields.

I don’t want to post the video. You’ve all seen it. But I do want to write a love letter… Dear everyone in Britain, ( even you illegals) Just so you understand. The poppy is for the boys who never got to grow old. For the boys who were still somebody’s baby, brother, uncle or father. More than 600,000 of them. It doesn’t matter if you support war, hate your country, think you are a woman (even though you are a man). It doesn’t matter which God you pray to, or if you pray to none at all. It doesn’t matter who you vote for, what climate narrative you believe, or whether you believe Israel should exist or not! The poppy isn’t for you! It’s for those who came before. Those who fought for your right to be weird, annoying or even foreign. The poppy is how we say thank you. Thank you for giving us time, peace and choice. And attempting to ban our poppy by declaring it politically divisive isn’t a move towards freedom. It is an act of suppression. Understand that. The poppy is about love and loss. For you! So stick your rainbow flags and every other flag where the sun doesn’t shine and just wear your poppy. Those boys did not die as symbols. They died for you! Did you know that poppies grew across the battlefields where so many fell? As though even the land refused to forget the blood once given to defend it. So the poppy is for them. For those who came before us and paid in youth, in hope, in breath, in blood, so that we might have the freedom to be arseholes. So that we might even have the freedom to fight over the ridiculous, the inconsequential and the insane. Revere it, celebrate it and wear it. The very least you can do is that. Best The ordinary people.

I'm not dying for a country that tells me to take down my flags I'm not dying for a country that says I'm not allowed in a pub because I wear a poppy I'm not dying for a country just so illegals and un-British migrants can continue to feed off our gutted welfare and make our communities unrecognisable, without our input and despite our pleas I'm not dying for a country that tells me I should respect multiculturism more than British and Christian culture I'm not dying for a country that would rather punish our surviving veterans for doing their duty when these ivory-tower charlatans wouldn't I'm sorry but these spineless politicians have left Britain in such a state that so many fighting-aged British men and women are either at best hesitant to serve or have served but question everything, including if it was really worth it

NEVER FORGET: Alan Henning, 47-year-old British taxi driver from Salford, brutally beheaded by ISIS. In 2013, Henning volunteered with a Muslim aid convoy to deliver food, water, and medical supplies to civilians in Syria. Shortly after crossing the border, he was kidnapped by ISIS fighters. On October 3, 2014, the terror group released a video showing his execution by beheading at the hands of "Jihadi John." A good man trying to help - murdered by the very extremists his convoy indirectly operated near. Sometimes it's better not to be a naïve do-gooder in a warzone run by monsters.

Delighted to hear @ShabanaMahmood announce @AlexChalkChelt will head the review of the Nowak case. The Nowak family deserve nothing less than a wide belt and braces review into Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary. What I would like Alex Chalk to know is how utterly unfit for purpose the IOPC is. The IOPC are a very blunt instrument where surgical precision is required in investigations. I know this to our detriment with the Nottingham attacks and all the police failures we pointed out. Nottinghamshire Police, Leicestershire Police could have averted the Nottingham attacks….they failed. IOPC have also failed to date.
So a person lies to police, hinders a murder investigation. Secretes the murder weapon. As far as I am concerned you are an accessory to murder….being released early. Why kind of message does this give out across the nation…..the wrong one. @MoJGovUK @AlexJJNorris Rethink. And Mrs Digwa, what kind of a mother are you. Henry has a mother as well… who is totally broken, will you ever in your life be able to see Mrs Nowak, another mother in the face……..

I was 31 when they finally worked out what was wrong with me. Five days in hospital, two departments arguing over who I belonged to, and I was convinced it was my heart. It was my brain. Epilepsy. Around the same time, my thyroid decided to join the party with Graves’ disease, because apparently one wasn’t enough. This was right when the wellness industry hit Australia hard. I had three little kids, not much money, and a lifelong love of anything spiritual, so I fell straight down the rabbit hole. Eat clean, think positive, raise your vibration. And underneath all of it, a quiet message I swallowed whole: if you’re sick, you did this. Somewhere in you is a wrong thought or a wrong food, and if you just find it, you’ll be well. So I tried. Oh, I tried. I already ate well. My Spanish mum had cooked us a proper dinner every night of my life. I meditated. I believed. And I still had seizures. The worst was at a spiritual workshop. I had several seizures, and a visiting teacher made me feel like I was doing it for attention. Like I’d failed at the spiritual game. I remember sitting there, shaky and foggy, feeling ashamed of my own brain. It took me years to say this out loud: I didn’t cause it. How could I? Positive thinking helps me. Good food helps me. Love helps me most of all. But the human body is a living, breathing thing, and sometimes it breaks, no matter how good your vibes are. Even now I can do everything right, take my meds, sleep, eat well, walk every day, and my brain will still do what it does. It’s called being human. If you’re living in a body that won’t behave, hear me: you did not cause this, and you can’t think your way out of it. The bravest thing you’ll ever do is get up and live anyway, sick and imperfect and still worthy of every bit of love you’ve got. 🤍kr

Who would have ever imagined you'd even have to remind people to be nice. - Now when we talk about the *good-old-days,* we mean the days when we were kinder, nicer and more helpful to each other without even having to be reminded! Thanks for the reminder @inthe_present ♥
