SpaceX Blocked A U.S. And NATO Satellite to Assist a Russian Intercept After Crippling Ukraine's Air Defenses The Math Proves the Reality that Musk doesn't want you to see. On Oct 13-14, SpaceX restricted Starshield/Starlink during a 39-missile Russian attack, cutting Ukrainian drone intercepts by 23% and stranding U.S. personnel in Kyiv. Forty-eight hours later (Oct 15), SpaceX blocked U.S.-licensed NRO, Space Force, and NATO radar satellite ICEYE-X36 in orbit so Russia's COSMOS 2612 weapon could intercept it (99.89%-99.98% posterior) Our Model Demonstrates that the Russian intercept of the US/NATO ICEYE X-36 satellite (contemporaneous with the throttling of Starlink) would not have been possible, and almost certainly not been attempted, without SpaceX resources. At a material opportunity cost, Russia sprinted its COSMOS satellite to intercept ICEYE X36. Based on a previous attempt in June during which X36 maneuvered to evade COSMOS, Russia knew that this would be successful only if X36 could not maneuver. On October 15, SpaceX fixed X36 in place by issuing a collision alert for a sub-kilometer approach with its Starlink 35856 when SpaceX's own data shows that the actual distance was 4.8-5.0x as great. SpaceX issued no warning to COSMOS despite the fact that its sprint was far more threatening than the stable X36 orbit. SpaceX did not maneuver its Starlink 35856 satellite to clear the supposed collision risk. How, absent coordination with SpaceX, could Russia have known that SpaceX would take actions that (a) misrepresented the danger posed by X36, and (b) resulted in the fixing of X36 thereby enabling COSMOS's successful intercept? Thus, SpaceX was directly involved in simultaneously compromising Ukraine’s defensive and offensive capabilities. The conjunction of these two events makes innocent explanations untenable. The Pentagon Capture & Iran Round Two Trap: Pentagon CTO Emil Michael who cashed out $7M–$35M from Musk’s inner-circle SpaceX vehicles (M8/Gigafund 0.1 and M6/Valor M33 II) and KQ Partners / xAI (selling xAIfor $5M–$25M three days before taking over CDAO/OSCand 21 days before SpaceX bought xAI, while keeping M8, M6, M9, M10 & Nomadic open) and Pete Hegseth purged rival Anthropic in two hours, surrendered combat command over US drones used to attack Iran to Starlink’s "Terms of Service," and on October 2 named Musk Co-Director of Project Meridian to design the Pentagon's "Future of Warfighting" just as America enters Iran Round Twowith depleted Patriot/THAAD magazines and Russia feeding U.S. warship/aircraft locations to Tehran. SpaceX’s actions in Ukraine raise serious questions about its alignment with US security interests and its reliability as a cornerstone of US defense. These questions are particularly troubling given the effectively irreplaceable position SpaceX has been granted by the Hegseth/Emil Michael Pentagon. $SPCX $TSLA Our full quantitative analysis below w/ @streetwiseprof

Elon Musk claims that Ukraine allegedly violated Starlink's terms of use and used the system on combat drones. As someone who was inside the process at the Ministry of Defense, I can say with certainty that this is not true. In February of this year, whitelists were introduced. Stationary terminals could be registered by both military personnel and civilians. But for any satellite terminal to work while on the move, it had to be added to a special list and connected to the military Starshield system. Otherwise, no satellite communication terminals in Ukraine would work. In other words, using civilian Starlink for drone missions was technically impossible. All drone missions that required satellite communication could only be carried out using Starshield. We are very grateful to the United States and SpaceX for access to critically important satellite communications. Ukraine did not violate the terms of use.

If you can paint maps you can make demands based on those maps in the future. They hope the debt is paid during talks. “A ceasefire on the lines of contact? Sure! Here’s our map which shows us in control of thousands of km2 in which you still have troops. Future resistance is a violation of the ceasefire.”
Russian milbloggers comment on today's report by Gerasimov to Putin about the newest accomplishments of the Russian military on the battlefield, including the alleged capture of the town of Dobropilla in Donetsk Oblast and elimination of the northern Kharkiv pocket. Military Informant: "There is simply no point in going into detail about all this" Romanov: "Three fighters entering a settlement and waving a flag for broadcast (and then being cleared by the enemy) does not constitute the settlement's capture."

This. Don’t get angry, get donating. A monobank jar fill is the best copium. Burn the bastards.
The best thing you can do right now is turn your outrage and anger into a voluntary donation to the Ukrainian military. Today, the Ukrainian military is one of the last bastions of goodness, decency, courage, and the values of the free world, fighting with weapons in hand, with the help of people of goodwill and wisdom, against the forces of the Axis: fascist Russia and its totalitarian allies. In this war against an enemy so vastly superior in resources and ruthlessness, nothing will ever be enough. That is why, for many years now, we in Ukraine have had large and extremely popular civilian foundations supporting our fighting military. They raise hundreds of millions of dollars in donations from ordinary people and help purchase enormous quantities of gear, equipment, vehicles, and services for the military: from first-aid kits to armored vehicles, drones, high-tech components, and even satellites. Personally, I recommend three of the largest and best-known foundations, which you can trust with complete peace of mind and which accept donations through any legal means from anywhere in the world: Come Back Alive @BackAndAlive, the Prytula Foundation @serhiyprytula, and the Sternenko Community @sternenkofund. They are one of the reasons Ukraine is still fighting, and this is a cause that you, personally, can help support.

simon civilization scale A: You can leave keys in your car B: You can leave car unlocked C: You have to lock car D: You have to lock car and conceal any valuables E: You cannot keep anything in your car F: E + and you have to leave it unlocked so they don't smash the window
I still think it’s very funny Kardeshev came up with a scale to measure civilizational progress that literally excludes every civilization that has ever actually existed that we know of

Interesting to learn Russia is suddenly against foreign military intervention in Ukraine.
Replying to @KyivIndependent
Sending European troops to Ukraine as part of security guarantees would amount to "foreign military intervention," which Moscow won't support, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Aug. 21.

LLM adoption among US workers is closing in on 50%. Meanwhile labor productivity growth is lower than in 2020. Many counter-arguments can be made here, e.g. "they don't know yet how to be productive with it, they've only been using for 1-2 years", "50% is still too low to see impact", "models next year will be unbelievably better", etc. But I think we now have enough evidence to say that the 2023 talking point that "LLMs will make workers 10x more productive" (some folks even quoted 100x) is probably not accurate.
LLM adoption rose to 45.9% among US workers as of June/July 2025, according to a Stanford/World Bank survey. Inference demand will continue to surge, not just from more users and more usage per user, but as newer, more advanced GenAI models require far more inference compute.
