π₯ "Punches being thrown! Here it comes, it's on!"
Kiwi prop Ross Taylor and halfback Clayton Friend take liberties on Australian prop Peter Tunks, and the Australian pack responds in earnest at Lang Park in '87.
New Zealand had a clear tactic in defence to start this one-off Test, and it clearly made an impression on the Australians.

I only just caught up on this, another religious nutter
#Breaking : The parents of Elizabeth Struhs, who was a type 1 diabetic and died after her insulin was withdrawn, have been sentenced to 14 years in prison for manslaughter.
Jason and Kerris Struhs were members of a religious group, which was against using medications and instead believed in the βhealing power of Godβ.
The Struhs and 12 other members of the sect were found guilty of manslaughter in January 2025.
The congregationβs leader, Brendan Luke Stevens, was sentenced to 13 years in jail for his role in Elizabethβs death.

TERRY LAMB HAT-TRICK π©π©π©
"Throws it up to the best support player in the world, and Terry Lamb touches under the sticks."
How about the quality of the passes by Jim Dymock and Jason Smith for Baa's first two tries, and then the Canterbury maestro does it all himself with a grubber into the posts for his third try v Newcastle in '94.
Also he ran about 5 metres total for his final hat-trick for the Bulldogs π
Happy 65th Birthday Terry!

"This Jason Smith has got ball skills that I haven't seen before..."
Sterlo is bang on, the then 21 year old Canterbury backrower was already something else with ball in hand.
Gee he was a gun.

Jim Dymock scores from a wonderful around the corner pass by Luke Goodwin and how about the Jason Smith ball to Terry Lamb before it!

Spot on John 'Bomber' Peard.
Canterbury knew a win would sew up the '94 Minor Premiership when they visited Campbelltown to take on the disappointing Magpies in Round 22.
Enter Jason Smith.

π₯ "Woah! Stuart is taken high... by Jason Smith!"
Certainly didn't miss.
The Canterbury second rower might have been a touch fortunate to avoid further punishment for this high shot on Ricky Stuart, but referee Greg McCallum deemed this coathanger only reportable.
Stuart got back up pretty quickly, and @PhilGould15 points out "the value of a good captain" in regards to Terry Lamb's discussion with McCallum after the hit.

π₯ Paul Harragon with the raised elbow on Jason Smith in '94.
"He got a don't argue from Paul Harragon..."
Little bit more than that from the Newcastle prop on the Canterbury second rower in this Round 20 clash at Marathon Stadium in '94. Not a good look for Harragon this one.
Chief gets a talking too from referee Bill Harrigan, but it wasn't even a penalty in the end and Harragon escaped any charge. Worth noting Smith was able to get up and played on.
They'd be teammates on the '94 Kangaroo Tour a few months later.
