Real harm, major expense and lack of transparency is the result of Executive @brucedammeier's decision to veto the @PierceCountyCouncil's Community Needs Fund. @GraduateTacoma and community leaders share more about the harm in this column 👇 thenewstribune.com/opinion/a… – at Tacoma, WA
Pierce County Exec’s veto will harm Pierce County kids. There was another way | Opinion

An attempt this week to override Bruce Dammeier’s veto was unsuccessful. It’s a blow to critical services. | Opinion.

i'm upset to be hearing about the multiple shootings that took place across District 3 last night. gun violence is preventable and the work to change our culture's obsession with shooting first starts with each of us.

we will not be able to legislate our way through conflict resolution and togetherness, that has to come from the heart. i know this is inadequate in the face of our reality, but nevertheless i am sending my love to everyone.

that's not to say we don't need legislative measures to help us manage our gun issues, i don't want this misrepresented. but a gun in the hand of a person who feels they have no other tools to navigate the world around is a dangerous thing whether it's a glock or an AR.

.@jamikafor3 and i have been organizing together since 2014. (but i've known her since i was 13) we started @tacoma_action because our mutual love for tacoma. it wasn't popular, or even acceptable at the time. we got kicked out of places, cops called on us, followed, etc.
