A non-negligible factor in considering Sugabelly, or any posturing feminist, as smart is that we live in an era in which women are encouraged to simply have opinions, without regard for soundness or actual correlation with observable facts.
The number of new atheists who do not understand the difference between "you need religion to be moral" and "morality requires the existence of God" is hilariously huge.
Okay? So?

Christianity succeeds because it is psychologically seductive. Christians want to be special, they want to be chosen, they want to be elect, they want a parental figure in the sky who is obsessed with their welfare, they want to be told that death isn’t final, etc.
It's a common phenomenon, not just a peculiarity of people bound by Christian ethics. When new atheists claim that they do not need religion to be good, they think that without objective anchors, everyone would be bound by an equal sense of good in a way that makes the claim

Where's the contradiction? There's no tension in acknowledging the Christian foundation of what's now the United States and acknowledging that it is forsaking that foundation when it participates in certain acts of war or legislation. Sometimes
Schrodinger's Christianity.
Nigerian Christians cannot seem to decide whether the US is a Christian country or not. When it bombs the Middle East, it inot acting as a Christian nation. When it legislates LGBTQIA+ rights, it is not a Christian country. When it invades Venezuela, it is not, When it bombs Libya, it is not. When it cripples Cuba, it is not.

Quite frankly, as grown, thinking men, we never really shed the infantile equation of good with nice or comely, and evil with grumpy or vindictive. YHVH, throughout the Old Testament, was a good God, but not a "nice" one. One may argue that YHVH's acts of cruelty in the OT served
as a necessity for systemic moral growth in a brutal old world. None of YHWH's actions compensated for a selfish desire, as we see, for example, in Zeus or the other Olympians, or in any other malignant caricature of God. YHWH's actions carried with them a condemnation
Americans remember 911 as a tragedy for the sake of remembrance. A white man does not think such evil should afford him special privileges or reparations because he understands the ubiquity of evil.
Africans remember the evils of colonialism, and the slave trade, and then
Africans everywhere are sympathising with and remembering 9/11, and they understand memory's importance in statecraft.
It is when it comes to other Africans remembering the injustice in their own countries that they start talking about "victimhood" & "that was in the past".
Somehow, even the sacred, human act of memory remains colonised—permanently centred on the West. It is as though the Global South is denied the dignity of its own grief, always secondary to the comfort of the Empire.
