After a couple of stalled attempts, Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen is set to move forward on the southeast corner of Lake Hefner Parkway and Memorial/Kilpatrick Turnpike.
The company filed for building permits in December of 2025 and after almost a year of back-and-forth with the City of Oklahoma City, their application was finally approved and issued late last week.
They bought the 3.1-acre property way back in 2014 and submitted plans for that site. After stalling, they then considered a site at NW 16th and Broadway just north of downtown.
In April 2025, we reported they had refiled zoning plans for the Memorial site.
Pappadeaux operates 38 locations in 8 states. This would be their first restaurant in Oklahoma and work should be starting soon.

The streak began with OU’s 17-13 victory over LSU last season and continued through Saturday’s 23-15 win at Mississippi State.
THE LAST TIME? 1969 — 57 YEARS AGO!
That 9-game streak began with a 37-8 victory over Pittsburgh and ended the season with a 28-27 win over Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma finally broke the streak by defeating SMU 28-11 in the 1970 season opener.
TWO CONSECUTIVE WINS!
FAST-FORWARD TO 2026
The Sooners have a chance to repeat history Saturday against South Carolina.
A loss would extend the alternating streak to 10 games, setting a new mark.
But a WIN would end the streak at nine!
And just like in 1970, all it takes is TWO WINS IN A ROW!

The basics of basketball are getting lost. Fundamentals are being replaced by highlights.
Too many players would rather take 6 dribbles to create a step-back 3 than use 1–2 dribbles to attack a gap and make the right read.
Everybody wants the highlight. Not enough players want to make the right basketball play.

The Thunder are allowed to apply for a Disabled Player Exception for both players.
However, the physician designated by the NBA has to determine if either player will be out until June 15.
Despite being over the first apron (they can also exceed Apron 2), OKC is allowed to use the DPE and 3 trade exceptions.
