OWN IT. That’s Leadership. When you are entrusted with a public responsibility, you own it fully, not selectively, not when convenient, and not depending on who is on the other side of the inspection. Good governance is not about the power to regulate. It is about the responsibility to protect. Enforcement has meaning only when it is applied consistently, fairly and without exception to institutions of every size, standing and influence. The credibility of a regulator is not built by acting against the weak or the visible. It is built by demonstrating that the same law applies to everyone. That consistency, not any individual, is what builds public trust. Food safety, ultimately, is not about inspections or enforcement for their own sake. It is about protecting people. #TukaramMundhe #OwnIt #GoodGovernance #FoodSafety #PublicHealth #Rajdeepsardesai indiatoday.in/opinion/story/…

Very disturbing behaviour by @AirIndiaX Staff in Surat. After paying for extra baggage on the counter they asked to note down my @HDFC_Bank @HDFCBank_Cares cc number. @MoCA_GoI is this legit?

What Wikipedia did: we stood strong for our principles and fought to the Supreme Court of Turkey and won. This is what it means to treat freedom of expression as a principle rather than a slogan.

If you use Wikipedia, you've seen pop-ups like this. If you're like me, you may have donated as a result. Wikipedia is an amazing website, and the appeals seem heartfelt. But I've now learnt the money isn't going where I thought...

Black and brown people around the world who were subject to horrendous cruelties and economic deprivation under British colonialism are allowed to have feelings about Queen Elizabeth. After all, they were her "subjects" too.

I've been covering bad parts of the internet for long time now. For years, there was one site extremist researchers warned me not to cover because publicizing it would be dangerous. But it's time people know KiwiFarms—and how they're chasing political enemies around the world.

I struggled for a long time to understand why people are often ‘cancelled’ for making true statements in good faith. This didn’t compute for me; there’s nothing immoral about saying true things. After lots of conversations w/ ‘cancellers’, I understood the problem…
