3/3 🧵He challenged us to make everyone feel welcome. “Clubs can strengthen the guest experience by having a dedicated team at meetings to ensure everyone feels welcome, included & enjoys their experience.” Because when people belong, they thrive & so does the club!

2/3 🧵He reminded us that belonging drives performance.
“When people don’t feel safe, they form cliques and retreat into smaller circles. But when members feel a genuine sense of belonging, they build stronger connections and are more likely to stay engaged.”

1/3 🧵In Rotary, connection & belonging are crucial! And today, Rtn Tusu challenged @RotaryEarlyBird to reflect on the power of connection and belonging in elevating club performance.
His reminder? Get interested in members as people. Everyone wants to feel seen, heard & valued.

Supporting youth mental health works best through teamwork. Schools teach emotional skills, Families offer loving homes, Clinics offer counselling, Community leaders reduce stigma while NGOs and government supply resources.
When we all collaborate, young people thrive. #newweek

Pre-COP31 is underway in Fiji, bringing Ministers from 50+ countries together ahead of COP31.
On the table: climate finance, adaptation, loss & damage, the $1.3T/year finance roadmap, and the 1.5°C goal.
YTJN’s position, guided by Uganda’s 2026 National Youth & Children’s Climate Statement (NCYS), calls for;
✅direct youth access to finance,
✅youth climate budget tracking,
✅stronger loss & damage action,
✅and meaningful youth representation at COP31.
98% of 3,187 young Ugandans surveyed through U-Report want youth voices in negotiations.

Weekend Vision story echoes my advice to young people about building (especially residential) houses. Early house construction drains resources needed for growing business. Take your time, grow your investments, an own house will follow as a matter of course.
Don't let your partner intimidate you into building/buying a house...its a wrong choice for long term financial stability. CPM – at Masaka, Uganda

On this #InternationalDayOfDemocracy, we recognize that every budget is a vote on whom a country serves. Every line item decides whose priorities count. When young people get a seat at that table, democracy stops being a ballot cast once every few years. It becomes a daily practice of holding power accountable.
Across Africa, young people are redefining #democracy by demanding #accountability, #transparency, and oversight of public #resources between elections.

The retreat, convened by SEATINI UGANDA, produced TJAU's Alternative Tax Proposals for FY2027/28, now headed to MoFPED and Parliament.
