🤦♂️ Referee David Rock has now sent off four Oldham Athletic players in four games, including two in the first 30 minutes of today’s disasterclass which you’d imagine will be appealed (one of his previous two was overturned). He also ordered one player off the field for ‘feigning injury’. The player had broken his arm. #oafc
Genuinely incredible #oafc
City might be losing but I'm at Boundary Park watching a referee incorrectly send two men off for Oldham and then watching a fan launch a crutch at him as he goes off at half time. So I'm winning really.
That went well
🚨 Michael Carrick will be given chance to turn results around.
Carrick is taking training at Carrington, staff + players preparing #MUFC for Saturday trip to Chelsea.
More @TheAthleticFC soon.

Demanding league titles when it was Mourinho.
Blaming the owners when it's his mate
Zero shame whatsoever
🚨🚨🎥 Gary Neville on the Glazers:
“They have to SELL [Manchester United] now. Enough is enough.” #MUFC [@WeAreTheOverlap]
Fuck
82' Butterfield has the ball in the net, but he's flagged for offside.
[1-1] #FAYouthCup | #oafc
This is rioting done properly
At this rate @ItsLB_City might be able to record Saeed Bingo before full time
Have you thought about working on tactics instead pal
"Finally, you'd hope, a turning point for Latics" from the commentators as the club's two strikers have an argument on the pitch #oafc
Maresca has to start entertaining the idea of dropping one (or both) of Enzo or Cherki for games against physically intense opposition midfields. PSG and Villa two games lost because of poor selection at the start - when everybody can see Bouaddi is needed in those games.
Cheapest (non-ST) ticket for tonight being ~£35 is shite and the club should sort it. Most group stage games a few years ago were £20odd, wages in the country haven't improved and now we have an extra group stage fixture. They clearly don't care about stadium being full.
city supporters (and, to a lesser extent, the players) are close to facing some of the harshest punishments this sport has ever seen for something none of us had any involvement in doing. if we want to wave inflatable bananas, do some rage bait chants, and self deprecate in response to that, we will.
this ISN’T a call for violins or (unwanted) sympathy for city supporters. it also isn’t a plea for you believe the club don’t ‘deserve’ punishment - if rules were broken, rules were broken. i’m also not here to tell you you can’t feel wronged by our board if their actions have wronged your club. not my place or intent to dictate your feelings.
what i am pointing out, though, is just because YOU want US to do this performative, depressive, grovelling and begging for forgiveness for something we, as fans or players, had NO involvement in, it doesn’t mean we should.
self deprication and resorting to humour and jokes is something city supporters have done for decades. we choose to respond to objectively naff situations (like facing threats of expulsion from the football pyramid) in this way, as is our right. hell, even after winning the treble we still chant about never winning home or away and losing last week as well as today ffs.
you don’t have to like it. but if believe we should pack in something that’s become a staple trait of city supporters just because it doesn’t align with your world view or moral compass that you think is gospel, then respectfully you really need to give your head a wobble🍌

I don’t think the Man City team and fans actually understand the situation they are in. They’re just treating it as a joke.

🚨 🗣️ Breaking: Ainsley Maitland-Niles on why he refused to take the knee before Everton vs Chelsea:
“Honestly, I feel like these gestures have become formalities. We take the knee before matches, cameras capture the moment, and everyone moves on. But what actually changes?
“I have experienced racism throughout my career, from my time at Arsenal to Lyon and now back at Everton. Yet I rarely see meaningful consequences for those responsible. How many more Black players must suffer before real action is taken?
“Behind every racist insult is a human being being humiliated for the colour of their skin. Imagine giving everything to football, entertaining millions, only to be reminded that some people still believe you are worth less because you are Black.
“I am tired of seeing beautiful messages against racism followed by the same ugly reality. Taking the knee means nothing if the people responsible face no consequences.
“I don’t want another photograph of players taking the knee. I want to see real punishment, real accountability and real change. Black players deserve to feel protected, respected and safe, not just for the 60 seconds before kick-off, but every single day.
