While Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) can help those who can't afford a purchase, it can also tempt those who can afford it, leading to unnecessary complexity and drop-offs. Consider testing to find the right balance for your audience's disposable income. #ecommerce #payments

Low traffic on your website doesn’t mean you are unable to experiment on that site and do conversion optimisation.
Here’s five things you need to think about when experimenting...🧵
5) Don’t worry about perfection.
Know that (if executed correctly) this is all still infinitely better than not doing it at all.
Keep using the process: analytics, research, data, to interrogate your customers and to validate what it is you’re doing before pushing it live.
I talk about how to harness the power of experimentation and share practical advice in my fortnightly newsletter.

Strongly advise against buying anything from @ASOS. Repeatedly & deliberately short-change me on refunds when placing large orders, plus they make it deliberately very hard to discuss refund issues. Spent literally hours on chat with idiots trying to get £155 back since August
There's a very simple reason why our opinions are so poor when it comes to making decisions about websites.
It's because, when you have an opinion, you are thinking rationally about your customers' behaviour, whereas your customers are not thinking rationally as they behave.
This plays out when we ask people how they behave in surveys and then observe them doing the exact opposite in reality. People don't know why they behave the way they do.
And if your customers don't know why they do what they do, then how can you possibly know?
Experimentation is so powerful because it removes the need for any 'rational' guess-work. Things work or they don't, regardless of what anybody thinks about them.

What is the value of CRO/experimentation?
This is a highly problematic question which, in reality, is impossible to articulate in any remotely accurate way and yet, due to the data-driven nature of what we do, we cannot seem to avoid having to do it.
Well CRO it's partly to blame for selling itself like that over the years, and now we're stuck with it, but it also comes down to the simple fact that it is possible i.e. an experiment produces a neat result which is easy to translate into revenue, even though that's really a…
