Happy Birthday Sir Viv Richards. This brings back huge menories. Best innings I've ever seen. Bats back then were like planks of wood compared to modern bats, yet Viv smacks it everywhere. Over 100 for the 10th wicket too! Fabulous stuff! Enjoy! youtu.be/EJ9Wm6oAL0M?si=qSaa…

I posted something about Viv Richards earlier, and it reminded me I had this signed team sheet. Just look at those legends...

Adam bravely did the commentary despite being gravely ill, which reflected what sort of a person he was.

Why aren’t all these articles about London’s worst mainline station headlined “Euston, we have a problem”?

Quite a character Todd. My book Red Devils tells the story of how he and his boss, the CO of the 7th Parachute Battalion, dealt with a German sniper near Pegasus bridge
#OnThisDay 1944: Actor Richard Todd took part in Operation Tonga on what is now known as D-Day. 60 years on in 2004, he revisited his landing site in Normandy, returned to Pegasus Bridge and reflected on his experience of war.

Did your Saturday's afternoons in the 90's consist of Teletext pages on rotate with radio commentary playing in the background? The days before Sky's Soccer Saturday was a thing.

And yet Tarkovsky’s Mirror is one of the greatest work of cinema of all time. Lesson: throw yourself into the mess of difficult artistic work and don’t give up till it finds its own form.
Tarkovsky's Diaries: (17th March, 1974) "Mirror is going really badly. Nobody has any idea of what it's about. All hopeless. Sizov saw it in order to decide the question of the two parts, & he had no idea what it was about either. The material keeps falling apart, it doesn't make a whole. Altogether it is all hopeless." --- Andrei Tarkovsky.
