How to connect Earth and Mars with an internet link? Here is a quick explanation of my Marslink simulation (v3). Design your own interplanetary network and find out the total Mbps, latency and cost! I'm pretty sure @SpaceX will deploy a version of this one day.

We are launching the Tesla Robotaxi safety report today. Till date, Robotaxi has driven a total of 3.3 million miles autonomously, and has had zero injuries nor airbag deployments. If the same number of miles were to be manually driven, we should expect roughly 9 injuries to the occupants or other pedestrians and 4 airbag deployments on average. We will continue to transparently share our progress with the public using this page. tesla.com/robotaxi/safety

Today's the day 🔥 The Roadster unveil is tonight, and the FAA just locked down the sky over SpaceX's McGregor site from this morning through Oct 31, ground to 5,000 ft within 1.5 nautical miles, with SpaceX as the point of contact. A 16-day closure tells you tonight's show is only the beginning of what's being tested out there.
The FAA closed the airspace over SpaceX's McGregor site today, ground to 5,000 ft within 1.5 nautical miles, from midnight to 5:04 PM CT, with only aircraft under SpaceX's direction allowed in. That's the day before Thursday's Roadster demo. No Oct 15 closure is listed yet, and whether today's TFR is related to the Roadster is still speculation.

Which Tesla Roadster version are we actually getting tonight? Scenario 1 (what most people expect) • Base — $200k | 0-100 in 1.3s | 800km range | no SpaceX kit • SpaceX — $350k | 0-100 in 0.8s | 500km | cold gas thrusters (faster accel + cornering + ~30s flight) Scenario 2 • SpaceX Light — $200k | 0-100 in 1.0s | 800km | electric fan kit (no flight, but better accel & cornering) • Full SpaceX — $350k | 0-100 in 0.8s | 500km | cold gas thrusters Scenario 3 (my bet) • Base — $75k | 0-100 in 1.3s | 800km | no kit • SpaceX Light — $200k | 0-100 in 1.0s | 500km | electric fans • Full SpaceX with rocket thrusters only shown as a demo. Doc Brown pops out saying “Great Scott, is it 1955?” Later, Elon goes: “Obviously we can’t sell the rocket version, but the light fan version is still insane for acceleration and cornering.” Which one are you betting on? Or something completely different? #Tesla #Roadster #SpaceX

The Fukuyama castle, built in 1622 as an economic hub and to protect western Japan, consolidating Tokugawa shogunate authority. This is the shogun that inspired the Netflix series I think. The castle has an iron plate on the side that's not guarded by a moat. Unique in Japan.
