Three Novembers with Korbessa! Nothing captures the passage of time quite like watching an orphaned elephant grow up. While she is still very much a baby, Korbessa is morphing into an increasingly mature, measured young elephant. Back in 2023, she was a newly rescued baby - jealous when ‘big brother’ Toto stole the spotlight, and not afraid to show it! Last year, she was becoming stronger and more independent, though just as sassy as ever. This year, Korbessa is morphing into a new role: big sister! 'The browse is always greener on the other side!' With their adjoining bedrooms, Korbessa can't resist trying to grab an extra snack by reaching through the partition wall for Toto’s night-time greens! Best friends they may be, but it's every elephant for themselves when it comes to snacks! Related by circumstance, Korbessa and Toto have grown up side by side at our Kaluku Neonate Nursery, and their bond is as strong as ever — even if Korbessa sometimes tests the boundaries (and Toto's laid back nature)!
